So now Federer is the joint leader for most number of open era titles at 3 different majors! Crazy stuff.

Im a huge Nadal fan (rarely post) but Federer is undoubtedly the GOAT. I mean there is going to be arguments about era's, etc, etc, but you cannot deny this mans accomplishments.

And what makes people think H2H even matter? Murray had a winning H2H over Federer before today. Did that matter?

Have you ever heard anyone discuss Rod Laver's H2H versus ANYONE? No! Because nobody cares!!

Whereas Nadal is the only man in the open era to have won 7 Roland Garros titles. He stands ALONE. :D

Why do you have to go looking for trouble? Federer won, and nobody was trying to deny his greatness, yet you had to go out and challenge people to do so. You're causing Federer hate, and giving his fan's a bad name... smh

NO one except people who play nothing but hitting 10 feet behind the baseline cares about clay.

TT Fed fans are pathetic. Even on a joyous, wonderful day for their Jesus, they have to obsess about Nadal. Just shows you how much real estate Nadal owns in their heads. I actually feel sorry for them.

How pathetic do you have to be not to be able to appreciate and enjoy this fantastic achievement by the GOAT.

None of Laver's contemporaries owned him the way Nadal owns Federer. I've never stated that I think Nadal is the greatest ever, but as long as he continues to get the better of Federer when they play each other, I can't give Federer that title, either. If Federer were to beat Nadal in a major final again, especially at Roland Garros, I'll change my mind.

Laver didn't play the clay goat. Haven't people realised that Nadal is far better on clay than Roger? Nadal also played his best 3-4 months during Fed's prime and Fed was making finals all year. Nadal's style is inferior in terms of achievements so far but we will see how things are at the end of their careers.

No worries, you don't have to give him any title, he wins his own titles, and history is taking them into account.
    You ... are just irrelevant.

I think the majority of tennis pundits and fans consider Fed to be the GOAT, or at least, right up there with Laver.

But I also think there is a pretty STRONG minority that will always question his GOATness due to his H2H vs Nadal.

For me personally, it's just impossible to deny that Fed is the Greatest and/or tied with Laver.

I fully recognize the Rafa H2H problem, but all that means to me is that even while Fed may be the current GOAT, there's more than enough holes in his record for someone else to overtake him in future (maybe even within a few years, if it's Rafa).

Neither Fed nor Laver are 100% perfect, in my opinion. But they are the best that tennis has seen so far.

GOAT doesn't mean you are perfect, and the end all be all forever and ever. It's simply an acknowledgement, that despite any imperfections, you're the best the sport has ever seen, across a full assessment of many different categories.

True dat, we know Hrbaty has the h2h over Nadal, Fed and Murray, so he would have to be the GOAT.
