He makes Fed look like a good guy. Soderling is the most obnoxious player in tennis.

Man, I waited all day to watch the whole match on the Tennis Channel and Navratilova's incessant, repetitive bleating is ruining it for me.

    C'mon NF !

Rafa is still very young, he'll be back. He needs some rest, that's all.
Cheer up. Its not a tragedy as he said. and its not the end of the world.
There's a lot of great tennis left in him.

Now lets enjoy the rest of the slam. NO telling whats gonna happen!

Sorry I mistyped it. I meant the loss isn't as painful as a severe injury. Nadal gets to fight another day. Seeing him this frustrated is not fun to see. He seemed to have more fun with tennis last year and even early this year. This negative attitude started happening in Miami imo.

Obviously. He beat Nadal where no man has beat Nadal before. Very obnoxious of him. :)

Is Davydenko your new idol now? Since Nadal was defeated you gotta find a new one, right?

As a Federer fan, I felt very bad for Rafa.

My friend sent me a text message, and all it said was "Nadal!!" And I knew somewthing was wrong.

I wanted Fed to win the French, but not with Nadal losing like this. I'm worried because Federer has a strange connection with Nadal and can lose when Nadal loses early.

This is the one year Federer has an almost clear shot to the title. No Djokovic or Nadal. But also it'sa year with some amazingly strange things: a great playing Roddick and Monfils and Tsonga.

It's scary for sure. I want Fed to take it

What's more only ONE person seriously predicted (and explained why) Nadal would be out before the final (Drak, i am not counting the haters here). He also predicted Fed would not make it.

However, predictions don't always come true. Patterns like the above one are arbitrary/coincidental. If anyone other than Fed/Murray wins the RG, it may be their only chance of ever winning a slam, for some even reaching a final.

Every Swede in Sweden was rejoicing after that Söderling match except ME.

My only consolation is that I know Söderling will not win the whole tournament. He is such a bad person that every win of his is a sad day for me.

C'mon Roger, the title is yours for the taking!!

I knew it! What makes him such a bad person (over and above the two things I'm about to mention)?

I usually root for Swedes, too (Jarryd, Pernfors, Edberg, Vinciguerra, Larsson, et al). But this guy, I just do not like.

    1]
The underpants tuck, mocking Rafa ... I give him the benefit of the doubt on that...it was sort of funny.

    2]
But deliberately presenting the wrong mark on a bad call? Then arguing it to the hilt? [Rome 2009] No conscience.

He was all business yesterday, so respect...great effort. Incredible match. But, I'm with you. He seems like a jerk.

Pretty poor highlight selection. Just showing the endings of all sets mostly, and a couple of BP's.

Soderling to beat Gonzo, Roger to beat Juan Martin, and Nadal_Freak to root for Roger all the way this sunday. It doesn't get much better than that!

That is why I keep telling them TO NOT PREDICT THE FUTURE. It would make them seem less FAIL if they said that they "think" nadal will win in 3. But they all said he "will" win in three thus Failing.

To be honest, I expected Rafa to not lose more than ten games in any match in the French Open.. it just goes to show..

  29. Funny thing is that Soderling had already booked his plane-ticket home that same night :)

A great upset. Hard to say if its' better than the Rosol one. On the one hand it is because no one thought Nadal could lose at RG and it ruined his consecutive RG titles record. And Soderling actually made the final and made it possible that Federer won RG to complete the career slam. It's as if Soderling was Federer's henchman and made it all the way to the final to personally hand over the trophy to Roger. Soderling also kept on playing well and become the #4 in the world while Rosol was a one hit wonder.

But on the other hand this was at Wimbledon, the most formal and prestigious event in the world, where Nadal got completely murdered (even more than against Soderling) by the #100 (exactly 100, which makes it funnier) in the world, in the SECOND ROUND! And of course this amazing match brought forth the one and only FedererLaughingAtRafa.gif.

I really can't decide which one is more awesome but I'm very happy that these kinds of matches happen, they make tennis a lot more exciting.

A 5 set match with a 6-4 final set is being murdered? Talk about exaggeration.

Remember how exciting you find these types of matches when one eventually happens to Fed. I am certain you will be on here whining your head off about it when it finally happens.
