Okay, the "King of Clay" v. the "Hype Machine"

I've never seen Verdasco play, but everyone (I mean everyone) expects great things from him, like "Verdasco will challenge (even beat) Nadal at 2006 RG."

Weigh in with your predictions. Mine is meaningless since I've never seen the guy play.

Verdasco has a nice serve and forehand.. Nadal's forehand is heavy topspin but Verdasco has a very penetrating forehand too.. this one will be nice.. i give the odds 2 to 1 for Nadal but verdasco can definitely do it!

They are good friends who have played each other a few times. I wouldn't be surprised if they practiced together. Last couple of times though Nadal has ***** slapped Verdasco. Verdasco has loads of talent and I see him doing great things, but at the moment Nadal is at another level.

Like Nadal, I'm learning Verdasco had some early success on hard courts (specifically, two heart-breaking losses to Roddick).

If Nadal is just too good on clay, how do you guys think they match up on fast HC?

Rafa is now 4-0 against Verdasco, but he says that Fernando is capable of beating anyone. But Rafa also admitted, in Miami, that his game matches up well against Verdasco's. They are both lefties, so Fernando's forehand goes to Rafa's forehand, and we all know whose forehand is more consistent. Rafa, especially when he plays aggressively, forces Fernando to go for too much, so his UE's mount up. Next up for Rafa: Tomas Zib.
