Nadal is up 3-0. I see the woodshed coming out for this one. Looks like number 74. Revenge is sweet.

He seems fine to me, especially considering his complaints about dizziness. He just found out Fed lost so the tourney's his easily. Nadal up 3-0 in the second

If Fed is watching this on TV he must be further demoralized. Nadal is unstoppable now.

  6. Hm interesting...ok. Though I don't know what "LMAO" is supposed to mean (I know what it means but what the...)

I'm just not seeing anything that impressive personally. And yes I am a Nadal fan.

I just started watching and from what I have seen, he hasn't really blastede winners, but right now, he's letting Youznhy beat himself.

  8. Yeah I agree.

Yikes. Some great points in this game though.

Nadal 4-1 now. He´s attacking Youzhny´s forehand relentlessly and he´s not able to blast winners from that side, Nadal figured him out.

Yeah, on any other surface Youzhny would have so many winners and this match would be much closer or Youzhny would possibly be ahead. I mean just think about it, you already have to hit 2 to 3 winners on a hard surface now multiply that by 3. Honestly, the only type of person I could see Nadal losing to on clay is someone that goes for broke and has a huge serve. Maybe someone like Pim-Pim, I dunno. Oh well, just wrap up the Rome and FO trophy and send it to his address.

Nadal holds again. 5-2. The end is near. So far he´s confirming that Fed, Berdych and Youzhny can´t touch him on clay. Nadal on clay= where souls come to rest.

Nadal kills Youzhny 6-2, 6-2. Still has NOT lost a set on clay this year. The 74th soul has been taken. Line up the victims. Joker´s next.

  17. I didn't think Nadal looked on and he still killed Youzhny. Not bad. I think Djokovic can beat him if he plays well though.

Yep the revenge tour continues. Nadal beating up on all the players he lost to on hard courts. It shows how much better Nadal is on clay and that the things that worked on hard courts don't work on clay against Nadal.

End stats- Nadal 23 winners 9 ue´s. 77% first serve points won. 80% second serve points won.

Who is this great tennis player I have not seen before - Rafael Nadal - can it really be the same one who had me wondering if he would ever win a tournament again ?

What match have you been watching? Nadal played almost a perfect match. I would be surprised if Djokovic can win a set.

It could be worse for Youzhny in the 2nd set since he had to save break points in those 2 games he won. It could be a bagel but he served well in those break points.
Nadal owns Youzhny in head-to-head 4-3 after this. I salute you! ;)

Yeah, especially after barely getting by Soderling and a mentally fragile Baggy who was actually up 5-1 in the second set and lost. Nadal should eat him up. But IMO Joker is the last man in this draw who can give Nadal trouble. If he gets through Joker it should be smooth sailing from here.

Might as well hand him the Rome, Hamburg and Rolland Garros trophies right now. Barring injuries or a total off-day nobody will beat this guy on clay this year... or next. The 100 clay matches winning streak is definitely within his grasp. That's amazing.

He's not the most elegant player out there by a long shot but he's no Muster either and his power and intensity are unrivalled at the moment.

I also don't understand how anyone can say Nadal looked off against Youhzny. Nadal won 2 and 2 and considering that the Russian's style of play is EXACTLY the kind of game that gives Nadal problems, that's a very solid result.

Youhzny's a tricky match for Nadal. Big flat forehand, big crosscourt bh, big serve, very fast, tall (so Nadal's kicking fhs don't fly too high for him), hits it early, can volley, etc.

I actually think Youhzny's game is beautiful to watch. He's like a surgeon w/ his accuracy. Yeah, Youhzny didn't play badly at all to me; it's just that the slower courts allow Rafa to retreive everything on God's green earth.

On a hard court I still think Youhzny's game will trouble Nadal (as will Berdych's, and Blake's-and at the moment not so much Federer to be honest as fed hits more top and his balls shrink against nadal).
