Nadal next meets Russian Igor Andreev, who was the last player to beat Nadal on clay.

    Head to Head:
    2007: Dubai - Nadal def. Andreev 6-2 3-6 7-6 (2)
    2005: Valencia - Andreev def. Nadal 7-5 6-2

I know Andreev is the lst guy to beat Nadal on clay, but Rafa is so much more of a better player now than he was 2 years ago so i think he will take it in straights:D

a year or two ago at wimbledon roger ran into ancic "the last man to beat him on that surface" and he got slaped.
Nadal is just as good on clay as roger is on grass. plus ancic is a better player than this Andreev his ranking is horrible. Nadal in straights

Nadal got revenge on all the players he lost on other surfaces, except Blake. Maybe another revenge for Nadal?

Nadal beat Andreev this year on hardcourts. I don´t see it as a revenge.

Why does someone have to be hater because the voted for Igor? Igor is a pretty darn good player. He was 24 in the world before he had the injury. He is a dangerous player for anyone, not just Nadal. I'm sure some people said the same thing when someone voted for Davydenko last week and look what happened in that match. That match isn't played on paper. If it were, then sure it would be dumb to pick Igor. In this case the match isn't played on paper so we'll see what happens. And Nadal barely scraped past him in Dubai by the way. I don't think it will be a blow out, but we'll see.

I think Nadal will win in 3 sets but it won't be easy for him.

I understand your statement. Just wanted to raise an eyebrow or two. Warrior Andreev is a very worthy opponent, the last man to slay Lord Nadal the Iberian on clay in 2005. He's another Russian to watch out on clay besides Warrior Davydenko.

If it´s played outdoors my bet is Nadal in straights.
If it´s played indoors I think he can drop a set.

Andreev was hot for a month like 2 years ago. He's a pedestrian now, absolutely no chance against Nads.

the scene immediately following the match is very predictable....if nadal wins then a little 'nadal continues clay court streak' happens...if nadal loses, the tempermental federer fans will party till 8am

but i am not a hater of any player.....i'll say nadal in straights

The only thing that can stop him is an injury right now.

Sooner or later he will fatigue and the streak will be over. Unfortunately for him it could be in two weeks...

Yeah, all these easy straight set victories are really tiring him down alright.

Looks like he was having some trouble with his thigh in that match.

Nadal is still not looking comfortable in these conditions despite the score. Still hitting many short balls. Andreev made so many errors though that he pretty much gave Nadal the match. Nadal though got his confidence back in the second set but that first set was weak of him.

Could it have been all these easy straight set victories that hurt his thigh? It would have been much smarter to sit this one out and stay fresh for the 5 setters!

Well the conditions are tough. The weather is probably in the 50's and windy. People in the stands were wearing down coats! Lol. Why couldn't they move this tournament down south? Perhaps Leipzig?

I agree on that. But it would be bad for the tournament to not have Nadal. He couldn't skip it for a 3rd year in a row. But in a positive, everyone else who is a contender is there too.

Agreed, those short balls could give him a lot of trouble if he has to face Joker or Fed.:-? He was lucky to get past Davy last week when he did that same thing...
