I know Blake took out Rafa at the U.S. Open but I just can't see Rafa going down the way he took out Marcos 6-0 in the 2nd set. This is a revenge match for Nadal and he is going to come out firing on all cylinders but I'm sure Blake already knows that and is planning accordingly. The audience will be divided on rooting for both players. Match time 4:35 p.m.

Blake improves his record against the lefty to two straight. He'll do it in three.

If Blake can keep up his intensity like he did at the Open, I believe he has a good chance at taking Nadal. He has the speed and power to neutralize Rafa. IMHO, Blake has the kind of game that can hurt Nadal. And Blake sure doesn't look like he is intimidated by Nadal's game or persona either. However, I heard the the surface at Indian Wells is slower than at the OPEN. If that is the case, then Nadal will have a slight advantage. We shall all see, I guess.

Blake has two key components of his game that bring trouble for Nadal - the first is his marvellous forehand. It's quite flat and is hit deep - so its difficult to run down. The second is the fact that Blake takes the ball early, therefore the topspin of Nadal's shots is neutralised in that they aren't allowed to kick up high and become difficult balls. This also allows Blake to stand in closer, as Nadal's balls typicall land around the service line unless he makes a concerted effort to hit deep - something even he can't manage consistently for an entire match. This all comes together to rob Nadal of time, and will prevent him from taking the intiative if Blake stays focused and aggressive.

I see this going to James Blake in three - give one set to Nadal for his sheer fighting spirit.

the crystal ball says: El Toro over JB 6-7, 6-3, 7-6

First set, I think Blake will come out swinging. Maybe get an early break. Rafa gets him back, but falters in a breaker.

Second set, Blake cannot keep the errors to a minimum. Not to Rafa's standard.

Third set, anybody's guess. I am rooting for the NYer. But in the end, I think Nadal will win the battle of wills.

I hope his ankle will be okay.

Slow courts, ad Nadal. Also, wasn't Nadal in pretty poor shape at the US Open?

I give the nod to Nadal in three sets. Should be a great match though.

Oh, and my heart is with Blake. He is such a class act too....

I want Blake to win but Nadal should abviously be the favorite especially on this slow surface, but if he loses it's still just a "minor" upset I guess because Blake definitely isn't playing badly. It'll be a great match either way.
