That's why tennis was invented in 2005. Nothing that came before really counts, does it? ;)

instead of endless photos of rafa/**** in the gym..

how about some of him on the tennis court with a strange and unusual item in his hand called a raquet..that would be good to see...

    whenever that happens.

We are already on page 4 of a thread about rumours with NO SOURCE. Either come up with a source of these rumours (other than the voices in your head) or close this nonsense thread.

It's "bears" not "bares". It will be a shocking end to an extra ordinary career. Even as someone who won't miss his style and antics (everyone plays the same nowadays), I wouldn't wish his career end like that. I hope he comes back to play.

Not sure why Clarky is a Nadalfan if she doesn't think Rafa's good for the game.

During the WTF matches, Tennis Channel kept showing that picture of Nadal in the gym (with that Rocky reference) and one of the commentators said that it would look more convincing if Nadal were on a tennis court.

But seriously, what is this thread about? ARE there any rumors, or is this thread supposed to be a collection of alleged rumors that people hear?

Did I say that? I said that tennis will move on without him. It's not going to fold up just because Nadal retires. It's been chugging along for nearly 6 months without him hasn't it?

You are correct. Nadaltards like Mustard clearly have been following tennis and enjoying it just fine without Nadal playing. 2012 USO final for example wasn't any worse than 2011 or 2010 finals.

Clarky never has a positive thing to say about Nadal. I've posted more positive things about Fed than Clarky has about Nadal. That should tell you a lot ;-)

Who would make such an inqury that Nedal is retiring forever. I hate to burst the baloon, but Nedal needs nothing more than treatment for his "injuries".

& we should all know injuries for Nedal are merely tender blimishes in his game before he should return to normal.

Rafa has had another tough season & I'd say @ 26yrs. he's in for his next pillage of war.

Yeah it will continue, but Nadal is still a big loss. Murray/Fed/Djokovic have been all playing some good tennis and distracting people, but I still think when nadal is gone for good it will be a sad day. Same for Federer and Djokovic (though you won't agree on Djokovic  ) But these guys bring a lot to tennis, and without them it would still go on but it would be a bit boring.

I doubt that. I am so sorry that I am not a big enough ******* to suit your liking. This ain't VB,where Nadal walks on water and can do no wrong. Reading the worship on that site makes me embarrassed for those people.

And you still didn't answer my question, but I figured you wouldn't.

lol I wouldn't say that. I think clarky is just annoyed with Nadal losing, playing in a way she thinks he shouldn't, maybe playing when he should rest etc, and so is mad at him. There have been times when I've been mad at Federer for lets say falling apart in a match. I can understand being mad at your favourite player, though I think Clarky goes over the top and lets it distort reality.

But I do recognise Nadal is a great champion even though I'm not a nadal fan. Still looking forward to when he comes back. And I think Fed/Nadal/Djokovic have made for a decade and counting (combined) of incredible tennis. It's going to be very sad as each one leaves the sport, it's sad enough to see Safin, Ferrero and Roddick retiring.

Yep, the difference between you and Clarky is that Clarky has never recognized that Nadal is a great champion. So just that puts you way ahead of Clarky in terms of loving Nadal. (Not a difficult achievement but still).

I actually have seen criticism of Nadal over at VB (like about his Poker Stars sponsorship deal, for example).

Anyway, one thing is not to worship him and another to say him retiring at 26 due to injuries wouldn't be a big lose to tennis.

I agree with Towser that Clarky seems mad at Nadal. I think him losing so many times to someone she hates got to her a little...
I do think Towser has been more positive about Nadal lately because he's out injured so he feels sorry for him. While Clarky appears to be mad thinking he just doesn't want to play.

attacking definitely, S&V may actually be worse on his knees since it's a different type of footwork. I remember Edberg had humongous legs. Anyway shorter points is better tho.

Why not just play Clay season. He will have enough ATP points to be top 8 if he dominates. FO(2000), 2 Masters(2000)

If he keeps getting this kind of injury, maybe he would try that.

You haven't been there long have you? Those people over there defend him at every single turn. One of them actually had the nerve to say that Nadal only plays Abu Dhabi because the people who run it are his friends and that it has little to do with money. They believe he does it out of the kindness of his heart. That's the kind of blind hero worship that is posted there on a daily basis. It's nauseating.

And if you are the odd outcast who dares disagree with something Nadal said or did you will be ostracized and then banned. The mods there have admitted that they ban people just because they don't like them. It's good for getting info and that's it. Having serious tennis discussion is absolutely not possible on that hero worshipping site.

Have you seen the thread about the Poker Stars sponsorship?, because there was the same silly moral outrage there was here. And it would appear there was about the video with Shakira as well, lol.

Somehow that criticism is allowed, but if you make any comment about not liking that he hangs out with the king of Spain, those will get erased for being "political". So I think we can know what the mods there think about these issues...

Anyway, there's a lot of worshipping but that isn't what bothers me of that site, it's that discussion isn't actually allowed, so yeah, it's basically good for getting info. It's ridiculously over-moderated, I much prefer the way this forum is run, even if I think it's sometimes under-moderated. Plus, I overall like Nadal fans better here.

Truth. I quit posting there months and months ago because I was tired of the pack mentality of the mods there. They do moderate the fun right out of that place, and have taken away free thought, and any differing opinions are immediately shunned. It's either you're with us or against us in the land of the ******* at VB. There is no gray area there.

    I doubt he'll retire.

But I'd wouldn't be surprised if he did though. Everyone knew it would be the injuries that did Nadal in. Not saying it wouldn't suck though, the tennis world would be sorely lacking without him but it seemed like he was fighting the inevitable. I wouldn't be worried about proven wrong though, Rafa seems to have a tendency to come back strong after injury bouts.

Rumours will continue to spread until Rafa returns. My fear is that Rafa is sick and tired of tennis and doesn't want to return. I have been scarred by Rafa's comments last year that he wasn't enjoying tennis. I can't forget the comments he made :( . Rafa said some horrible things for his fans to hear. It was too much that bearing of his soul. That is why he has gone, he wants a life away from tennis. He should put his fans out of our misery if this is what he wants to do. I wish I never liked the complicated Rafael Nadal, why can't I like Roger?

Well. This is the time, when you can stop listening to whatever Team Nadal is telling you. It is almost never serious.

One has to question whether Nadal really cares about his fans, if he is wrecking their nerves for his PR and marketing purposes.

Yeah, Rafa doesn't care about his fans.Look how he has just left the tour without any date for comeback, pulling out of all those tourneys. We are dumb to like him . If he decides to comeback, his fans should desert him! Like he has done to us! As I always say it sucks to be a fan!

Lol,he has no date to come back because he's not coming back. At least that's what I gather from the situation. As I already said; I wrote him off as retired months ago,and until he actually steps back on the court in a pro tournament,I will maintain that opinion.

Yeah, I think the same. He should just come out with it! I am ready for it now. There will be no happy ending with this. If Rafa does return I see him in a very different light now. Rafa won't be so shiny to me anymore, he has tarnished himself in my eyes with all this business. He hasn't treated his fans nicely. I hope that some will no longer support him, I will be one.

Good question. I think Rafa will announce on fb in December on eve of Abu Dhabi tourney! It will read ''I have decided to retire from tennis after trying very hard to return from my knee injury. Thanks for your support''.

I have lost hope! His heart isn't in this sport anymore. That is just my perception.
