    He's saying it's not a chronic problem which leads me to believe it's not his regular tendinitis here. Any info on that?

    If he had said it was a chronic problem, it would only lead to all sorts of speculation about his future failing game, etc. just like all that gossip about Federer's game and he doesn't want or need that.


    I like the part about them taking a hard look at his schedule.

    Tendinitis becomes chronic if you don't take care of it. He should stay out as until pain totally disappears, only then restart rehab, and start slow.

    If that requires to skip USO (which I expect for such cases), he should forget about it. Health comes first.
