Something i was curious about, will Rafa be permitted to wear his new watch at Wimbledon considering it's black?

Wimbledon's dress code isn't ALL white, it's "predominantly white". The watch doesn't compose a large part (or really any) of his outfit, and is fine to wear if he wants to.

He'll probably be able to wear it.

thats kinda like asking if monfils can play, you know since hes black...idk why everyone thinks you have to be completey decked out in white to play at wimbledon, have you never watched the tournament to see other colors?

Yeah Wimbledon's just "predominantly white" dress code, so a small watch would be fine.

Some players wear watches all the time, a watch isnt going to go against that dress code. Justine Henin has always wore a watch. Also, with such a big contract, such an event of this would have been researched and info found and amendments made it needed

    Nadal Fined For Colored Timepiece

I can see it now; the All England Club fining World #1 and 2008 Wimbledon Champion for sporting a black watch (that technically isn't even defying the dress code) on Centre Courte. Come on people its a """Predominantly""" White Dress code; not some kind of mummy cult that files lawsuits against players for not bleaching every inch of their apparel.

Half a million for that watch and I think it looks like crap.
Should be banned just on that.

I thought that was how the press release was worded too. But there's a pic in the Shoes and Apparel section (one of the Nike threads) showing him practicing at Wimby wearing the watch. Knowing Rafa and his obsessive/compulsive behavior, he may wear it until he loses a match...

Wearing a watch and a wristband looks just weird.

I'm sure if you were getting paid as much as Nadal is to wear it, you'd do it

I don't see how the pros wear jewelry when they play. A wristwatch would bother me, and some of the stuff the women wear is borderline ridiculous.

Nishikori also wears a bright blue plastic watch, no problem there.

They all look the same (same case). You'll have to see a super close up to see the difference on the dial and/or the movement.
