What sort of division would a top 100 nationally ranked player (Australia) be likley to get into? Would this ranking be considered above average?

    Thanks.

Mate, do you mean Open ? Juniors? Mens or Womens?? Probably be lucky to get into Div 2!

Average as compared to what? To international players with ITF ranking obviously below average.

Depends on age and playing potential. Need more info though.

Like under 18's and the person was 17 (mens)

And if they were ranked top 300 in Australia overall, like open, every age.

A few years ago the former number 1 junior of Australia was playing 6 for UCLA. By the end of his time at UCLA, Michael Look was playing 4. But UCLA is freakin' loaded. Kid ranked 17 in Australia could probably play singles for all but a couple of handfuls of the top 100 D1 teams.

not sure he meant 17 ranked ? Michael was pretty solid, think OP meant he is 17years old but ranked in top 300 open. For example, Jason Kubler would be a chance to start for UCLA but he should be going pro....

I suppose it makes a difference if the player is ranked #9 or #99. Both rankings are top 100. Maybe some more specifics.

You could look at who has gone from Australia to college tennis in recent years, and compare yourself to them.

I was thinking more like 90 - 100 ... I don't know i've just been looking at some of the Australians that have been recruited, and many of them have quite low rankings and in some cases were unranked.

top 100 australia is definitely a chance, if they are unranked then they must have some results or good connections to colleges...and there have been so many aussies over the years...playing US college tennis....in all divisions!

    keep looking.
