They forget how good bron was on the CAVS when he went all crazy in that detroit series. Probably cuz SA swept him in the finals.

People also forget how good Pippen was. If we call Pippen a Small Forward. who was better Small Forward at the time. I cant think of any.

I know some of you guys think Jeb Beuchler, Bill Cartwright, Luc Longley, Bill Wennington, Steve Kerr, and John Paxson were studs, but the fact is that those guys were pretty much stiffs who were able to stay in the league because Jordan drew so much of the defense. He did have Pippen and a rebounding machine in Rodman for the last few titles but you put all those guys on one team with Lebron or Kobe and see how far they go. Thanks for playing

Jordan was great. But trying to win an argument by discrediting those who came after him is pretty silly. It is the textbook definition of blind nostalgia. Frankly, I go to this section of Talk Tennis to avoid this type of posting.

think you conveniently forgot players like horace grant and toni kukoc.

look at OKC. durant + westbrook + 10 good role players = 2nd best record in the NBA and headed to nba finals. durant + 10 good role players = in danger of losing to the rockets.

it's really that second superstar that makes all the difference.

GS vs SA should be one heck of sweep. Memphis VS SA would be like a steel cage match.

I don't think a team that just beat Denver will be swept.

Just so you know, Steve Kerr went onto win with the Spurs too. And he did contribute.

And Scottie Pippen went pretty far with his Trail Blazers, trying to keep a young Kobe Byrant in front of him.

Rodman and Pippen are top 10 all time at their positions. He had Pippen for all 6 and also one of the best coaches for all 6. Put Kobe and Lebron with Pippen for 3 years then add Rodman for another 3 with Phil coaching all 6, guarantee they win championships. LMAO at you thinking Jordan is a god that doesn't need help

Better line up your screens for tonight's dbl-dblheader on ESPN and ESPN2. May be a Hooters nite, but have a match at 6 pm. Tough place to watch sports though.

Can't believe my Celtics are still in it. Memphis will probably take out the Clips tonight. Their front-court is formidable.

While I don't see the Warriors giving the Spurs much trouble, you have to give them credit for being good underdogs. The Warriors finished the series against the Nuggets with a 6-0 record against the spread.

He does that every game, haha. Some say he does that when he's just stretching too.

Kevin Garnett can be 60 year old and he would still have the heart of a lion, that's why I watch the Celtics.

Is Del Negro going to be retained by the Clippers? That likely will depend on whether the Clippers can re-sign Paul. Clippers off-season will be quite a long, messy affair.

Golden State went deeper in the playoffs than the LA teams. Didn't see that one coming when the year started.

I kind of hope the Bulls would lose this Game 7, because frankly, I'm tired of all the talks and speculations on the status of Derrick Rose.

Also, the depleted Bulls will be no problems for the Heat. I'm not saying the Nets would be, but it'll be a better series.

So much heart from this team this series. Noah is a man. Quickly becoming a top 3 center, if he's not already. It just amazes how Tom Thibodeau gets everyone on this team to step up, even with Deng out of it. Bench warmers like Teague and Cook stepping in to make big shots. Gotta love it.

Heat/Bulls will probably be the most interesting series, even though the Heat will take it in 5 or 6, Chicago will give them a challenge that Brooklyn wouldn't, regardless of their talent. Memphis/OKC should also be good, I see Indy grinding out the Knicks, and SA steamrolling the Warriors.

Probably won't happen, but a Grizzlies/Spurs vs. Bulls Finals would be fun to watch.

Actually, it's fun to watch the Bulls regardless of who they play. They give maximum effort, and that's fun to watch regardless!

Loved watching the Bulls tonight. Glad they got through and not Brooklyn. Like JBF said, I just couldn't see the Nets giving the Heat any sort of resistance. The Bulls, on the other hand, seem to try their hearts out every time.

If NY sticks to the Melo/iso offense, then Indy will key on it and shut it down. If they spread it around more, they have a shot. But Indy should be favored. NY has the best player, but Indy has the best team imo.

Bulls have the most heart out of any team. D Rose out clubbing the night before game 6 while Noah, Deng, Hinrich, Robinson, Gibson, Boozer, and Butler are playing hurt/sick/40+ mins just to get to the next round. Pathetic that he's been cleared for months and won't come back.

Knicks won't lose to Indy. Paul George is too small to guard Melo in the post and David West is way too slow to do what Bass did. Hibbert isn't anywhere near the help defender KG is, Knicks should win this in 5

I agree, I think the Pacers have the better team. The Heat will have to grind with Chicago and then (my pick) the Pacers. They could be worn down a bit by the Finals.

He's not healthy. Why don't people understand this? No one knows his body better than he does. You really want a premier player in this league - a former MVP and the main reason behind Chicago's resurgence - to risk the rest of his career for a single playoff series? I'd rather have Derrick Rose sit out one series and play at an all-star level for the next 5-6 years, than have him come back prematurely risk another injury and perhaps become a shell of his former self.

He is healthy, his mind isn't ready for competition. He wants to be "comfortable". The guys at TNT were on point, the dude has been practicing at full speed for 2months straight. If he's not healthy, then they would have shut him down.

Frankly, I don't care if he doesn't feel ready yet. Like you said, we're not Derrick Rose and we don't know where he is. I just think this has been handled poorly by the PR guys:

    1) Stop speculating whether or not he's going to play.
    2) If he's not ready to play, don't tell everyone he's been practicing at full speed. This feeds back to #1.
    3) Don't have him dress up in uniform and participate in pre-game drills. This also feeds back to #1.
    4) Don't have him say "I'm healthy" but then say "I'm not comfortable yet" to play. This feeds back to #1.
    5) Finally, don't show footages of him dunking the ball. For me, if you're point guard height and you can dunk the ball, then you can play.

The bottom line is that Rose doesn't have the competitive fire of the all time greats. He won't be held in the same regard as the top 30 players of all time. He has the physical ability to reach that tier, but not the mental makeup.

He got cleared to play by doctors months ago. He's healthy just being a coward right now. The Bulls are sacrificing their bodies to win games while this coward sits out and goes clubbing when he's 100% physically ready. I'd be pissed if I was a bulls fan

PJ Carlesimo won't be re-hired by the Nets. PJ is better off without them as he did all he could with those overpriced underachievers. Meanwhile the bandwagon Nets fans can go attend the Knicks playoff games.

I'd be fine if Rose just came out and said he isn't going to play. No more of the 'will he won't he' game and giving the fans false hope/media ammo to call him out on.

Indy's going to let Melo play his iso ball and get his 27 pts on 28 shots. Meanwhile they play team ball and grind it out for the win. T1000 with a bit of a homer pick there, Indy will take it in 5 or 6 more than likely. Also David West is 100x the player that Brandon Bass is and perennial member of the all-underrated team.

    Agreed with all of that.

Rose - Stop answering questions by not answering them.
Bulls - Decide whether or not you're going to play Rose. If you're not going to play Rose, stop releasing evidence suggesting he "could" play, and definitely stop allowing him to participate in pre-game drills.

One last point I want to beat to death with about Derrick Rose and the Bulls, if the dude can dunk, then he can play, period.

Brandon Bass - He's a clean up guy around the glass and can knock WIDE open mid-range guy. Like Haslem.
David West - He's a Brandon Bass + featureable player in your plays. Either as a go-to guy or act as a decoy.

Pacers are doing it right, let Carmelo get his points, and shut everyone else down.

I agree with your first paragraph but the 2nd one looks like youre the one whos watched very little basketball. Theres no way people are gonna look at Derrick Rose the same way they did in the past.

Is this really the official line from the Rose camp? Any links?

If so, it's pretty pathetic. Noah is playing the best ball of his life (frankly much better than I ever imagined he could play) and nobody can stand the NY Knuggets or the Heat. A big opportunity is being missed here.
