I'm not sold on Brandon Jennings, he's like a younger Monta Ellis but without the mid-range.
No one is sold on Brandon Jennings. He takes impossibly low % shots at horrible times.
5 best teams:
And maybe the Knicks contesting with the nets
Shirley #57 is the only player who takes those shots.
My bad #55, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_XHCrJmMlY
I still don't get it. He has not played at that level since 2009.
The reason he did not get picked up quickly as a FA is because GMs are using analytics more and more saw his shot selection and didn't want to pay him for what he is asking. The NBA is evolving away from overpaying guys who are volume scorers.
Any other current examples?
Monta Ellis was a guy some GMs were saying the words "max deal" around 3 years ago. Now he is at a more realistic 10mm a year deal and he is in his NBA prime.
Just shows how dumb some nba gms are. I'd never pay a guy who's not good enough passer to be a pg but not big enough to be a sg a max deal (Ellis).
Jennings is better than Ellis imo in that he does have some pg tendencies but still shoots way too much.
Otis Smith is one who would have given Ellis the max if he could have. It was a dark time for us.
Kobe is back on the run, http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2013/08/19/kobes-recovery-mamba-on-the-run/?ls=iref:nbahpts
Pretty cool video, featuring Wilt against a young Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2U4JSrpO78
Anyone watching any pre-season games? Wizards/Heat on now, entertaining. Cavs/Magic last week was sweet
No but I am keeping up with all the stupid "off-court" injuries though.
Give an example? See D-Rose may be damaged goods
This isn't even off-court. Beasley punched something on-court and hurt his hand/fingers.
MBeasley just is a mess from the start. Why would the Heat want him?
Why would they want Greg Oden? He's like a NBA game or two away from walking with a cane.
Oden reports that his knees are swollen after just one practice.
Dwight Howard is crying already. Apparently he thinks his Orlando # should be retired...
I nothing to say about this. Dwight Howard is SUCH a loser and the proof is in the pudding. Overpaid. Offensively challenged. Takes ZERO responsibility for anything and everything.
Kobe: Show us AGAIN!
I'm a fan because I admire his work ethics. Ball hog or not, the guy wants to win and no one ever questions his work ethics.
If anyone is going to come back and play like nothing's ever happened, it's him.
Here's an awesome read...
As for Howard... all i can say is LOL.
Yeah I read that the other day. Any athlete can appreciate it.
More comedy gold from Howard...
Too funny. Guy wanted to get out of Orlando sooooo bad and now he's comparing his new team with the Magic:twisted:
Hope the Mavs have something to say this year... I'd even set with just being in Playofs (you can work your way from there) :-?
A guy who plays hard and never talk or complain vs. a guy who talks and complains all the time, but never plays hard.
A guy who was recruited as the number one high school player in America versus a guy who had to fight just to make the starting squad on his college team.
The TNT crew is back!
W's should put on quite a show, if Bogut stays on court, Steph keep his ankles healthy, Klay can find the basket, Lee just runs around, and Andre distributes as he sees fit.
Lee should benefit, now back to his natural position, out of the limelight.
I'd slow Bogut down a bit, resting him more than he wants, so he might last a goodly part of the season. He should NOT be running around with Andre and Klay.
How bout these Lakers???
It's the first game...
Only 33 more for the record
Kudos to the Laker bench.
I seriously hope D'Antoni continue to give the bench plenty of court time. This is the only way to develop the skills of the bench players and to keep the aging starters healthy.
Pelicans are looking fly, 76ers have found the Answer. 13 to 1 run
As much as it pains me to say it, it's time to stick a fork in Steve Nash
Klay Thompson stuck it to Nash yest.
Klay is almost 6'8" tall, and when hot, can shoot like Curry, Rice, or Allen. He was hot, enjoying passes from runners Iquadola and Curry.
When he's cold, he can go 2-15, like he did in the playoff losses.
Believe Chris Webber mentioned how poor the Laker's backcourt defense is with the twoSteves. That any good point guard will salivate with the Lakers on the schedule.
Kobe, when he's healthy and interested, can shut down ANY scoring guard any time.
But he does it better in uniform and on court.
LeeD, can he shutdown two scoring guards? GS is double trouble
YES HE CAN!
Because he can shut down one, the PRESSURE goes to the other, who might or might not play at his best.
Better, Kobe can shut down EACH at different times, so they don't get into rythum.
That's why Kobe is the PREMIER guard of today. While he can certainly score 25 each and every game, even when he's off, his play at DEFENSE is beyond reproach, when he's healty and interested.
Kobe isn't going to be as good defensively coming off the injury. I love Kobe but its ridiculous to think he's still a force on both sides of the ball and will be when he comes back. Lakers IIRC were terrible on D last year and that was with Kobe and supposed defensive stopper Dwight.
Rocketman had 26 rebounds
Lakers perimeter D sucks. Kobe plays D only when he faces Wade's, Wall's, Irving's etc. of the league. Both Steves, Meeks and even Farmar (even though it looks like he's trying hard) sucks at defense.
I wonder what excuse for staying on the perimiter will Pau use this season. Before it was Bynum and Howard (i got that). But there's NO reason for him, not to park his @ss under the basket (other than the 3sec rule ).
What about Michael Carter-Williams. Best first game in the NBA i can remember. If he continues to play like that, Philly's "tank for Wiggins" plan may be in jeopardy LOL.
Shouldn't he be getting similar numbers in a league devoid of big men?! The dude is literally bigger and taller than just about anyone else.
Separate names with a comma.
