uhh i dont think that juss cuz he made it to 8 straight finals declares him GOAT. i mean thats a great achivement but theres more that he didnt get like having all 4 grand slam
I disagree. Having made it to twice the amount of finals than anyone in the Open era combined with the record of most consecutive weeks at Number One demonstrate dominance never seen before, French victory or not.
So, according to your logic, someone who finishes his career with 0 grand slam titles could be considered the GOAT merely because they lost in 8 straight grand slam finals?
Federer is the master of every other surface (fast or slow hard courts, indoor carpet, grass) and is the second best in clay so yeah, I'd consider him GOAT
