Kinda random... I know. But went and saw The Dark Knight Rises recently.. and just started thinking about how awesome it would be to find a video game in which I played as a character like bane (physically very powerful, ruthless) and basically just went around laying a hurt on everyone.

It doesn't have to be a game in which I'm playing an evil or bad character.. but just looking for basic suggestions of games in which I can just beat people up.

Assassin's Creed or Skyrim? It's vague what kind of genre/platform you want.

How about settling yourself down by watching a couple of Justin Bieber videos? This always works for me.

Seriously, the game you're looking for is Saints Row 3.

platform is xbox 360 or PC. and I'm not picky about any genre. As long as your character is able to take out a bunch of people with his power, I'll probably like it.

Historically, I've liked all the Force Unleashed games, and the Devil May Cry games. That should give you somewhat of an idea of what I like... superpowered characters to play as, with bosses and the like.

Though, I'd like a game based more on melee than using guns etc.

Im not a gamer guy but i love super mario games, they are fun, and kinda challenging! Other option is any Splinter Cell game, the fact of being stealth and doing thing quick, makes you thinl a bit and is also challenging.

Darksiders I and II and Transformers Fall of Cybertron will probably be right up your alley.

You're not a super powered heavy but there's a ton of mindless *** kicking in the Watchmen video game.

My son and I LOVE The Force Unleashed and Devil May Cry games.

DeadRising 1 or 2. Just running over zombies with reckless abandon. Or GTA. Can even get the old ones (3/Vice City) for 360 since they're backwards compatible, and more fun than GTA4.

Are there nay 'animal' games? I'm not talking about mutant animals or hunting games but actual animal games where you can play a particular animal and have to survive...

God of War franchise would be perfect for you Cup, but its only PS3 i think...

I do that 4 times a week. Also a speed bag.

But there's only so much fun you can have with that, and I don't want to get into actual fights. And sparring prevents me from hitting with full power (don't want to hurt anyone by accident obviously)

Yeah it is. I've played the first two.. still hoping for an Xbox release along those lines. Pretty sure the new Devil May Cry game is going to be PS3 only as well.

Maybe I should just buy one haha.

It was said already, but batman arkham city is what you're talking about. It's like grand theft auto, you can run around and do whatever you want. You can even do a mini game where waves of enemies come at you and you beat them up. It's really fun.

Hmm.You dont want to get into one on ones.. that would probably be a good thing to try . Seems it is you that doesnt want to grow up or get hurt .

Why do you need to beatup someone in the digital world?

No, I'm a good fighter. I've just done damage to sparring partners in the past, and just dont like feeling bad about it. Video games are a nice outlet for enjoying stuff like that without putting anyone in danger, including myself. Not sure what is considered immature or 'not grown up' about not wanting to get into physical fights with people for no reason, even if it's just sparring. I've done that most of my life.

Are you advocating that I get into fights and sparring matches? I suppose I could look for better, more muscular sparring partners.

Stay within your own league i.e. weight and size. Otherwise you are not a fighter but a flighter.

I don't play games, since I like to live life as efficiently as possible, but I've heard Topspin 4, Nadal vs Federer is a good combination.

If you're looking for a game where you can be an unstoppable demi-god monster besides God of War, then I think something like Skyrim would fit the bill. As you level up, you can learn some unbelievably destructive spells and dragon shouts. There is a seriously unique satisfaction with using the unrelenting force (fus ro dah) dragon shout on giants 7x bigger than you and watching them fly 20 ft in the air. If you have it for PC, mods add an almost endless amount of deadly new spells and dragon shouts.

JBF#1 already mentioned GTA, which are good choices for fun unadulterated chaos and destruction.

Then why post in this thread?

I'm seriously curious; what's the point of poo-pooing games in a thread devoted to gaming?

OP: I'm addicted to Virtua Tennis on my Razr. For fighting games, I still play Soul Caliber on my Dreamcast. (Yes, I'm pretty sure I'm the last American who owns a Dreamcast.) I have GTA Vice City on my laptop, always a lot of fun. And I miss Double Dragon.

You're right. It is extremely gratifying beating Very Hard Nadal at Roland Garros in straight sets without breaking a sweat.

OK, but you could say the same thing about chatting on a message board instead of talking to people in person.

The posters drawn to this particular message board certainly aren't missing out on real life; everyone attracted to this place also enjoys playing outside, in a sport that requires interpersonal interaction. Some of us also happen to like playing video games sometimes. Food for thought.

Dark Souls is exactly the game you're looking for.

It will kick your butt, and you will die, a lot, BUT...if you keep playing eventually you will grow strong and the feeling of accomplishment and butt kicking will be well worth the reward.

    Game of the year.

I'm having trouble hearing you from below your high horse.

Seriously man.. I am staying healthy. there's nothing wrong with kicking back and putting a game on because I don't wanna watch TV after I've gotten back from the gym, and Madden 13 or Call Of Duty get dull fast.

You will probably like DarkSiders. You can get the first one for cheap enough.

Or you can go old school nintendo and hit up River City Ransom. You can beat down anyone and everyone. Its funner than Double Dragon but similar.

Or just play Super Dodge ball. Supringly enjoyable plucking the other teams witht he super throws and watching them fly all over the place nutil there angles float up in the sky.
