I've been using a Chang Ti MP lately which is my first 14x18 racquet. I'm not normally a string breaker, but have been getting a lot of string movement and have been breaking strings after about 15-20 hours, probably due to the very open pattern. Currently using Laserfibre Supreme 16 @ 60 lbs (range for this racquet is 53-63).

Any recommendations for how to reduce string breakage?

Since you are using a LF multi already, you may want to take a step over to the Phenom line. Tends to be more durable, but plays softer than the Supreme. I have a customer who plays with the Chang stick and uses the LaserLiteXL 16L and actually gets surprising durability. He probably gets 30+ hours out of it.

I was planning on trying the Phenom so hopefully that will help some. Would going up in tension help as well? I'm guessing that I'm getting the breakage due to all the string movement and rubbing.

    Try Lux ALU !!!!!

I had a Head i.s12, last year, and got rid of it.

I loved the bite I got, bit against good players there was not enough string there to hit the ball back.

I wish I would have known about Lux ALU then, I'd still have it.

Phenom is impressively durable for a multi in terms of ability to resist friction from string movement. No need to increase in tension...if you do only do so by .5 - 1 lb.

You could also try string savers.
