Sounds like a good watch. Hard to explain to the youngsters how impactful Borg, Mac and Jimmy were to the modern game. Hopefully, this film will convey some of that magic.

Jimbo is one of the greatest figures of the game whether people like him or not. Did a lot to build the sport's profile in the 70's along with Borg, King etc, and kept going until a grizzled old veteran.

I've watched a handful of these and enjoyed them a lot, even as a viewer without much knowledge of mainstream American sports and the names involved. I really liked the Bo Jackson and the Magic Johnson docos.

Some tennis-loving documentary maker should've pitched one about Mac and Borg '80 or Mac's '84 season or Ashe '75.

My favorite 30 for 30 films were the Marcus Dupree and Reggie Miller vs. NY Knicks ones. I haven't seen the one about Ricky Williams but I heard that's a good one.

HBO did a good film about Mac/Borg called Fire and Ice or something like that.

Yes. The USFL one was was pretty compelling as well.

The Martina/Evert film is the only tennis one to this point, right?

I tried to locate Fire and Ice on DVD to purchase without any luck. Does anyone know where I can purchase it? I do not have HBO.

Always nice to have a review of that run however Connors did make back to back quarters in 88 & 89, so although it was magical, it was also vintage Connors.
