    Nadal still number one

Melzer reach an all time high of 8th

Verdasco is dropping like a stone and will continue after Barcelona points.

Fish very surprisingly enter the top 10

Gasquet pass Tsonga and ranks 17th

Dolgopolov enters the top 20, Raonic is 28th (+6), Ljubicic wins 7 places to rank 33th.

The biggest winner are Gil (64th +18 ) and the biggest loser Ferrero ( -19).

I certainly did not expect Fish to reach the top 10, even if this is not for very long. We have two players currently in the top 10 reaching their best rankings at 29. Ferrer, who is 29 too, has already been 4th but he has a chance to climb back to this ranking with the season he is doing for the moment.

I can never remember a faster rise towards the top 10 then Raonic. He has good chance at even getting to the WTF which would be a unbelievable achievement. What was he start of the year 168? Well done to Melzer on getting a new career high.

Yep. he already won wimbledon. they r printing his name on trophy as we speak--might as well save some time.
In fact this year analysts are only predicting the other finalist name.

    Actually,
Dudi Sela went +19 to #96
Donald Young went +24 to #98
Michael Bachinger went +35 to #99

Those are the biggest movers in top 100 this week.

Oh snap Donald Young back in the top 100, he'll be top 10 in no time, probably just after Raonic makes it.

i know you were trying to be funny but have you actually seen the scrubs in the top 10? It's almost impossible for Raonic to not hit top 10 this year maybe early next year. He'd have to try hard to not make it inside the top 10

I can't imagine Raonic at the World Tour Finals. I don't want Canadians in London.

If we had Kohlschreiber and Melzer playing together in the WTF, do you think the war would be brought up?

Anyway, back on-topic. Is Melzer really 8th? Amazing.

London is looking more and more like Mecca every day and you don't want Canadians there?

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Churchill was the last great englishman.

What did DY do to jump 24 spots? Did he win or make the finals of a challenger?

Never mind. I Googled DY and saw that he won the Tallahassee Challenger.

I think Young has a shot at setting the record for most challenger titles(he has 5, think the record is 11)

I saw him play the calabasas challenger final in '07 & during the ceremony after the TD said something like, "we're glad you're here today, but you probably won't be back next year." But he was back. '08, '09, '10, & probably '11.
Being a perennial challenger level player must kinda suck. But he does have a great record there(107-53)

You jest. Just wait a little while! Patience. Not sure if Raonic will be number 1 but he will continue to climb the rankings if he improves. He also has the right mental attitude it seems which is surely lacking for the most part in this clown group of top 10 (aside from the top 3.)

Probably an already asked question, but why don't Fed's 180 MC points count to his ranking?? Thanks!!

Because the penalty for not playing enough 500 tournaments for last year is still intact. MC would have replaced Basel if he had gotten more than 500 points by reaching the final or winning.

Could that be because his mother was American with the patience to put up with a syphilitic husband of "noble" English stock? Actually, there are plenty of fine Brits. They just don't gravitate to positions of political power anymore. My life would not be as enhanced without the Beatles, Michael Caine, Vanessa Redgrave, Tony Hopkins, Mary Quant, Gordon Sumner et al. They could, however, use a tennis player or two.

Monfils is at 9? What has he done? The only thing I can think of is making the final in Paris last year.

QF at USO and Madrid, F at Tokyo and Stuttgart, won Montpelier.

Take away Paris and he's 15th ... there's a lot of mobility in that range of the rankings.

Looks like it didn't really matter that Djokovic played monte carlo didn't affect his ranking and opened the tournament up for him next year

It always matters. The only reason it didn't affect his ranking is that he didn't play it last year either. It's always better to gain points than not, esp. in a 500 or larger event.
