Anybody currently using this shoe? I searched the archives and reviews but there's not much info on them. I'd like to hear some opinions from anybody who's used them.

I have both the 780 and the 781.

I like the 780 better because it has better lateral stability. The 781, while not unstable, you can tell the difference if you own the 780. Both have good traction on hard courts. 781 has better ventilation.

Thanks for the input. I was beginning to wonder if anybody was going to reply to this. I already ordered some Adidas tennis shoes, but I may check out NB in the future. I've always been happy with the 990 series for running and general use.

I decided to send those Adidas shoes back. They were the Tirand II's and my heel kept slipping in them even when tied up real tight. My Barricade II's never did that, so I was surprised. So, it looks like I'll be needing shoes once again. Samster, do the NB 781's have any tendency to roll over when moving side to side or coming down after hitting a forehand?

Thanks, but I already sent them back. I really can't stand shoes where my heel slips at all. I think I'm just going to get another pair of Barricade II's. Better the devil you know...

I just realized you live in Nashville...that's where I live! May be we can hit some time.

Going back to your question, I probably would not recommend the 781 to you because I felt the ankle support was less secure than the 780.

  8. Argh, my 780's are toast, and they are no longer available anywhere! I searched the entire internets. Now's it's the 781, which is inferior. I hate this. The NB 780 is the best shoe I've found in 6 years, especially at $65.
