Just got my Tennis Magazine in the mail today and almost dropped it from the shock of seeing a new New Balance shoe with some style. Gone are country-club white and in are orange and dark (charcoal or black) Specs (14oz.) and 12-month warranty were impressive too! Maybe I'll buy American again, but I'm sure the factory is in the Orient somewhere to afford the $115 MAP. Anybody worn these or recent NBs for feedback?

Wow, 12-month guarantee now? I usually wear out shoes in 4 months when I play alot.

I'm liking the White/Navy/Gray color. The shoe in general is a lot more modern looking with straighter edges. The Silver/Orange/Black looks good too.

Currently wearing the 1007s. Nice shoes but a little outdated styling. It seems that they have been reading some of the NB threads here on TW.haha Everyone ***** on their style but they are the only brand that provide a dedicated 2E, 4E width shoes for us wide feet freaks.

Will have to wait and see the reviews.

Just checked out their website. They are doing a promotion for today only with $10 off and free shipping on order over $125.

Ordered the Orange/Silver 1187 with shoe deodorant and bubble laces for $127 OTD.

Will provide a review in a couple weeks.

For those who have had to wear all the ugly-looking NB over the years because of their wide feet, this is not such good news. I have talked to NB customer service and was told that they have no plans to make the 1187 in the 4E (extra wide) width.

That explains why I couldn't order the 4E width at their online store...

I think I'm a 3E, but the 2E fits me good when it settles in. Pictures added for TT viewing pleasure.

Interestingly, tennis magazine says NB is releasing the shoe in purple/white, but ND lists that color combination as navy/white. I hope it's navy. Purple would be an odd color to release to the masses...

    See post #2 photo update

    Men's colors orange/black and navy/white.
    Women's colors teal/white and purple/white.
All still flash upgrade from previous NB's. Will be curious what the box is labeled as country of origin.

I tried them on at a local store yesterday. Hate to say, but I was not impressed. Real cheap laces and overall construction, the upper was a thin plasticky material, looked to me like they would be really hot also.

The "cheap"-looking laces are designed with bulges to prevent the laces from slipping and to allow varying levels of tightness at different locations of the feet.

True, historically NB are kind of like the "Buicks" of tennis shoes. Kudos to them for introducing something that might have more contemporary appeal.

I'm sure they'll be great shoes in the NB tradition of comfort.

    They have me curious.

Did the new shoe have the lockdown liner (elastic band around mid foot) like the 1004? I really liked this feature on the 1004. Thanks.

Per the NB website, the 1187 does not seem to have the lockdown liner or Nlock feature.
