Hi All, the other day at a tennis shop I found the new extreme Pro just brought from Austria. It looks pretty much the same than the actual one but with some red lines near the throat. I will try to get some photos and see if it has the same specs than the older one.

You should wait and try the new one. I hit with both this past weekend and the Pro plays different than the origional. The added some kevlar/graphite to the edge of the head for some support as well as changed the string spacing to open it up for even more spin. The weight and balance are the same. I have to admit it played very nice.

Also looked like they added some sort of coating to the head bumper so it can slide and the strings move.

I hope they don't do this to their next racquet line. it looks like a less extreme version of Prince's O3 ports...which are the worst designs known to racquet history.

I just looked at the photos in the catalogue, and it looks like only the Pro has the new string spacing - regular Extreme has the original string spacing. The spacing on the Pro looks similar to that of Lubijic's Pro after he worked with Head on modifying it for him.

I just went to my local racquet shop today to demo the old Extreme Pro. He said new Extreme and the old one are pretty much the same except for the Teflon, Kevlar, & head width. The paintjob is sweet with the red. The specialist said they play the same and the new one will probably go for about what the old one did, $159 or so.

Having played with both, with the opening up of the string spacing on the new one ( still 16X19) you get more power and spin. They do not play the same. Weight, balance are the same or at least very close. The debate is it worth 159.00 for the new one where I am seeing the old one for 79.95 probably down in the 50.00 range soon as the new ones will be out in Feb/09 demo's before that.

I just picked up a couple of the extremes, not the extreme pros and I can't wait to hit around. I am switching from a 9.4oz priince spectrum. Hopefully it is a huge power change, the prince just doesn't cut it as far as power. Way to light!
