currently using rip control 17 at 60lbs in yonex rds002 tour (UL spec)

last year tried some different multis, gamma tnt2 18 and livewire and technifibre nrg2 and psgd 18. the nrg2 was okay but the rest felt too bouncy. found rip control and loved it. strokes have improved and i think i can handle a little more zip.

i want to add a little more power to my current setup. i like the feel of rip control but miss the spin i got from my lux ace 18 and timo experiments.

is it better to loosen up the tension a little or to try a different string?

when i break rip control i break the crosses. i shouldn't complain cuz i think i get 30+ hours out of it.

anybody?! I need to drop it off today. Rip Control at lower tension or NRG2 at same tension(60).

    If lower tension, how much?

If you're looking for more power, then just try adjusting the tension to a lower range, say 55-57. You'll definitely get more power out of it, but might struggle at first having to adjust some minor things on your swings.

If you're lacking the spin you got from Lux strings, then you should try another string. But the difference won't be that much, since the spin is generated by the player, using racquet head speed.

thanks -- going to try the nrg2 at same tension. i get quite a bit of topspin already, but the 17g rip control just doesn't seem to get me as much as the lux ace 18g.
