I got a new 42in TV but in playing video games the quality seems blurrish. I tried adjusting the sharpness and settings but it still seems the same.

Might be you're sitting too close to the screen. When I bought my first big flatscreen the same happened to me.
We had to rearrange our livingroom ;)

Vizio 42in LCD HDTV (with wifi) I got it from Costco
I wasn't too close so i dont think that is the problem. I had a Mitsibushi 47 in before and no problems. It was just too heavy

Edit: Its fine with TV and movies just not video games

If you get a razor-sharp image from e.g. BDR, but games are blurry, I would investigate if something is wrong with the console or the way you plug it to the TV. Did you use the HDMI or DVI-slot?

That means the WII isn't blurry? I did not use my WII for a long time, but I remember it never was as brilliant, in terms of picture quality, as the PS3. It's graphics adapter is simply subpar.

Which games are blurry? PS3? XBOX?

Check the Xbox settings, make sure they match your TV.

Is the Wii blurry on the new TV or just the Xbox?

If its just the Xbox then AO has a good point. Try to change the video settings on the console to 1080P. What kind of cables are you using? maybe when unplugging the old cable yuou damaged one of them and thats the issue. Do you have another set of cables you can test with?

I have a Samsung tv and they offer this feature called game mode thats designed for gaming. Its suppose to speed up gameplay but it degrades the graphics a little. Ill take performance over a slight decrease in graphics anyday.

The Wii only outputs to 480p right? Well obviously you won't get a good picture

Well that's a problem. Composite cables make for a pretty crappy picture when hooked up to a TV that can handle much more advanced resolutions.

    Huh?

I don't think an HDMI cable will do a Wii any good since its only 480 So I'm screwed or maybe setting the standard modes will help?

I had the exact same problem with my PS3 when I used standard R/W/Y cables. After I plugged in my HDMI it was a world of difference. :)

How about you sell the video games and do something meaningful with your time? A waste of time and money.
