New Warrior 100 & 100 Pro

I wouldn't say it is flaking excessively just that it seems to be very very thin and not very durable. Instead of being a blemish on the paint when you dig a low ball is seems to be going straight through the paint. Regardless I am enjoying how the racquet plays and have been surprised since I have been trying to play with some moderately heavier racquets like the Extreme Pro 2.0 for the last year or so. I find the Warrior Pro to be easier to use in match situations at pace and when tired.

Has anyone else demoed the Warrior Pro 100 alongside the Tour Pro 100? I have them both out right now. Spec weight and swingweight are similar. Pattern and flex being the big variable. Getting more pop on serve with the Warrior Pro and hit a "faster" ball but seem to get better spin and, when I connect well, a heavier ball with the Tour Pro. Both have been good at net with a slight edge to the Tour Pro. Trying to decide between the two. At times I feel like the Warrior has too much pop and at times like the Tour Pro doesn't have enough. Thinking might be better to go with the Warrior Pro and work with tension and strings, in match situations I tend to play better with the "easier" stick.

Interesting comment about the paint job. I've been using the new Graphite 100s since they became available and they, too, look like Bagnatis (sp?) got a hold of them :) I play almost exclusively on har-tru nowadays but my sticks looked like they have been dragged around on an old cement court. I love the new line but I think Prince may have skimped on the finish coat

AI100 has a more muted and dampened feel. The WP is more crisp.
The WP also has a slight power edge and swings a bit lighter.
I just play better with it :)

What do you think about the instability on off-center shots that the TW playtesters mentioned in their review of the WP?

They mention that in virtually EVERY review of 300 gram (unstrung) racquets,
so unless you want to go up to 12 oz and higher, this is something you have to deal with. I don't think the Warrior Pro is any worse than most other 11 oz racquets in that respect and also feels pretty solid for it's weight. I noticed it a little when I first hit with it, but barely notice it anymore.

I know this is a bit off the topic but has anyone tried the ESP warrior ?

I demoed the Warrior 100L. I picked it because I would be adding 100g to the handle and it had the weight and balance to make the final racket have the weight and balance I like.

Pros:

- Cosmetics are excellent and I really liked the way it looked
- Prince's handle shape is better for me.
- Headsize is better than my Hyper Hammer OS.

Cons:

-Maybe it was the poly they strung it with but occasionally there was some vibration and I could feel it in the handle. This is amazing because I use the shocktape grip that weighs 80g and is made of Sorbothane.
- The vibes made it seem less solid than my Hammer. Not as flimsy as some modern rackets but not solid like the Hammer.
- I was hitting against the wall, and compared to the Hammer, the balls were staying lower so either it wasnt as powerful or it wasnt getting as much spin. I think it is less powered than the Hammer, but usually I dig that.
-Oports. Not sure I like them at all. Especially having to string them.

Neutral:

- The open stringbed. I was looking to really like that part, but it didnt turn out like that. I didnt hate it, it just wasnt anything special like I thought it would be.
- Spin. Compared to the hyper hammer, the spin seemed LESS. Its hard to know for sure.

Overall I played better with the Hyper Hammer 5.3 with a similar 100g in the handle. It was more solid and my shots were better, especially slices.

The Hammer had one advantage though in that I had strung it at a lower tension with Kevlar/ monogutzx. If I had restrung the prince maybe that vibration and power would be improved?

I can see though where many would love the Warrior 100L

Thx for the info.

Regards to the vibrations, I tried regular Warrior 100 with ports and I felt the vibrations through the handle like a tuning fork. I ended up giving up on that stick because of it. I thought it was just the string choice and tension combinations but I wasn't sure it was due to the frame itself. ????

Jack, David, BC1, or anyone else. Have you compared Warrior and Warrior Pro to the Rebel 105 (which was mainly available in Europe and Asia)? I keep trying other tweeners like the Juice 100L, Juice 100S, but eventually gravitate back to the Rebel 105. It has a thinner 22mm beam and moderate (62) flex with box beam construction. Long mains of the 105 head and extra 0.25" length provide power slightly below Juice 100L and slightly more than Rebel 98. More control than the Juice by a good margin. I built up my grip and added a leather grip. SW is 320, static weight is 11.8, and balance is about 5 PTA headlight. Wondering if I should stop looking or try the Warrior, PDR, or PD+.

I'll most likely hit with it just to see if there is anything worth upgrading for. As it is though I still have my
Prince EXO3 Tour 100 (18X20) form a few years back that I have not found anything that fits me as well. I even tried the updated Prince Tour 100 last year with those open patterns, etc. and hated them.

Some good points in the thread though.

The Warrior Pro is a great and highly underrated racquet around here. VERY similar to the Graphene Speed MPs.

Has anyone else noticed what to me seems like a subpar paint quality on their warrior pro 100. I have been using a local shop's demo for about a week now and it looks worse than most of my other racquets I have played with aggressively 6+ months around the hoop. Not that is affecting the performance at all but just seemed odd to me. Outside of the cosmetic issue I am very impressed with this racquet. Amazing easy power when needed yet seems controllable in most situations and quick with in my opinion better stability than other racquets with similar specs.

I don't have a Warrior, I have the Tour Pro 100...same issue with the paint job. Flaky...

Jack - did you ever add any lead to the 100P?

How did you end up modifying your speed MP? I got mine up to 11.6 and was really liking it for the most part but after taking a month off I went and hit and my elbow hurt for 3 days. Had that problem when originally demoing the sp and thought I had solved it with the added weight. So I might give the 100p a try.

Also, can you compare the 2 at net

i loved the ti response rackets and still have one mp in my garage but i have played a match with the new warriors rackets. Then switched to a set of 03 tours and now playing this year to a set of prince 100 tour T esp and love them. I can definitely feel and notice a difference in the 03 tours and new tour 100 t esp rackets. The new tour t esp's reward me for being aggressive and ive seen more improvement on my serves too. I know some people complain about the esp rackets having strings break but ive yet to break strings this year and i play more aggressive now then when i was playing years ago with other rackets.

Played the 100P stock.

I preferred the Speed MP in every way to the 100P. It was better at the net because it has better touch/feel.
