Yes mikro112 its just a play on the 'X' which the racquets will be called. Eg, 20X as in 2010, which is when they'll be released. Its not that hard to figure out. Wilson X-Factor Six-one 90 or whatever.

No. It has to have significant amounts of red and white on it. Federer's got a say in what his paintjob is going to look like, and that's why his last two rackets had red and white on it, those are his favorite colors because of the Swiss flag. Although I'd love an all black paintjob, it's probably going to be messy with plenty of red and white, like the [K]Factor paintjob (you can only do so much with 2 colors before going messy).

The PS Tour 90 was made and designed for Pete Sampras. He said towards the end of his career that if he was going to play with a different stick (which he wanted with a slightly larger headsize I guess for extra forgiveness), it had to be predominantly black.

The players that these rackets were meant for (or at least their paintjobs) have a massive say in how the racket will look. Federer wanted red and white, Sampras wanted predominantly black (with some yellow?). That's why Federer's last two rackets look the way they do, and that's why the [K]ProStaff is predominantly black, because Sampras wanted a black racket.

Nah nah dude. They decided to skip percentages and throw out solid figures.

The new Wilson X-Gen rackets add an extra 100 mph to every stroke while consistently placing the ball into the corners with 100000k RPM. The racket senses where you are on the court and sends them to the preloaded coordinates on your opponent's court to hit winners all day long.

Nadal will not stand a chance against Federer with these new figures! :)

Yes but what secretly superfluous technology will Babolat come out with to counter the amazing powers of the upcoming X-Gen racquets? Poor Nadal will need an edge to counter Federer's increased powers with his new stick. This is like an arms race!

  9. that sounds hilarious. and desirable!

So Wilson designed, manufactured, marketed and sold a racquet that Sampras was ''going to" play with but never did. Uhmmm ... that does not make sense. You'd think they would have rung him up on the phone one day before they went to all the trouble and just asked "Hey Pete, you gonna play with the Tour 90 or not?" .... I think the colour choice was just to follow the black / red / yellow colouring of the PS85 which it 'indirectly' was replacing. Simple as that.

No. It was meant for Pete. You do realize that after his US Open win in 2002, he completely stopped playing tennis right? He officially retired a year later. Nobody saw this coming, not even Pete. But by then they already developed the racket, or were almost done with it. That's why they had Federer play with it. Federer used a ProStaff 6.0 85 already, just like Pete. Not only that, his game was often compared to that of Pete's. Federer was a rising star and a sensation on the tour, so Wilson decided to capitalize on that and make Federer paint over his racket to look like the ProStaff Tour. They knew Federer would make it to the very top, or at least very close to it. Federer was the perfect replacement for Pete.

They probably did call him up, and when he said he wasn't going to play on the tour anymore, they were looking for a new player to take up the racket. Luckily for Wilson, the Fed-Express had arrived and was on the verge of making a huge splash on the tour. Wilson asked him to paint over his racket to look like the ProStaff Tour. If Federer didn't do it, they'd find someone else to or they wouldn't have released the racket at all. So Wilson was VERY lucky that they had a guy as popular as Federer to fall back on. Federer was God's gift to tennis as well as God's gift to Wilson.

It was NEVER meant for Federer. The nSix.One Tour and the [K]Six.One Tour and the X-Six.One Tour were meant for Federer, but not the ProStaff Tour. That was all Pete. Pete was winding down from his career, so he didn't care too much if he switched rackets, or made it look like he did (at least not nearly as much as before or else the ProStaff Tour would never have been created). His performance was down anyways, so why not make some money off of it?

They'll come out the the AeroPro Drive GX! They load the racket with Graphite Xplosives (the technology will officially be called Graphite Xplosions, but Graphite Xplosive is the new space age material that allow this all to work) so that when Nadal hits the ball, get gets an extra racket acceleration of 1E10000000000000000 miles/sec/sec. Only Nadal has the beastly arm to control such power. However, they are still only in the testing stages. The release date sadly will be around the time Federer retires. :)

The reason it's still in the testing stages is that they can't find a way to load the racket up with enough of this GX so that it'll last more than 8 hits before becoming useless (basically a normal racket, which we all know pros would never play with :) ). That's good enough to last you 2 games' worth of winners, but still, Babolat is aiming to have their new AeroPro Drive GX rackets last up to 200 hits before becoming totally useless before it is officially released.

If you ask me, they should settle with 8 shots and let Nadal handle the rest. That way, the people will constantly buy rackets loaded with 8 rounds of winners and profits will go up due to a massive increase in sales per year! Then as they increase the durability, they can RE-RELEASE it and make MORE money! Or heck, keep both but have the longer lasting one be more expensive (like the iPod 8g vs the iPod 16g vs the iPod 32g vs the iTouch vs the iPhone).

Next thing you know, the Youtek Prestige rackets will never be released, because Head and Prince will look for new technologies! The result is that Head will create a laser guided ball launching racket, guaranteeing perfectly placed aces and 5 foot deep holes in the courts. Prince will counter with the racket that always gets the ball on it's strings (with a string on the end that you tie to your wrist so that it's always a legal shot). Sadly, that was the best that Prince could come up with, and it couldn't compete with the power of the other companies' rackets. :(

Then we have the masses buying these rackets, thinking they've gotten so good that they can now dominate (or at least keep up with) the pros. The result is that the really haven't gotten any better on the court, even with these ridiculously tech-infused rackets, and still get bageled 6-0 without scoring a point. I guess their rackets were malfunctioning.

I also heard that Boris Becker is creating rackets that are attached to a life Boris Becker clone, so all you need to do is put the racket on the court (Becker Clone sold seperately, though we all know you're buying one) and it'll win the entire tournament for you! It even has a ATP Tour success guarantee! "If our new Becker Clone 11 rackets don't give you success on the pro tour, we'll give you our in-production 'Becker Clone On Steroids 11' rackets! Free of charge!" I think the Becker Clone On Steroids 11 rackets will have you banned from the tour in no time for their overuse of technology.

ProKennex will come out of hiding to reveal that they actually amassed Protoss technology into their racquets - psi blades and all that will spin the ball SO hard, it'll turn spirals through the air and create mini-black holes that will swallow any opponent who dares try to return them.

    Sorta like this maybe?

    LOL

So that's what killed the dinosaurs! It wasn't a meteor... It was the first tennis ball... FROM TEZUKA'S FOREHAND! :)

Ahhh... If a racket could really do that with the ball... Pros will all be grinding it out for 1000+ shots a point! We'd never need to improve our legs ever again! Haha. Or we'd have to improve them in a different way.

    superb!

I have heard a (very reliable) rumour that for the next generation of Head, Wilson, Babolat, Prince etc. racquets, the companies have actually started paying Militaries all over the world to shoot down any UFO’s they see. The racquet companies will then reverse engineer materials and technology they find in the downed craft and incorporate it into the new racquets.

All this so Pro’s and the average player will gain a massive advantage by not using the previous generation of racquet...how can we not believe the hype?

I personally think the Alien Tech racquet should at least mean a breadstick rather than a bagel for most :p

Based on my initial calculations using some reasonable assumptions, this racquet is 20% better than the previous model (I'm willing to share my calculations with people who are seriously interested and well versed in Newton's calculus).

Uhm...not to stab theories, but how can anyone tell accurately what color it is? I hear all this about gold and black, but the lighting was dark with a few beams of light at various area. Honestly, most racket would look like it had a black paintjob with that lighting. For all I know, it could just be the k90. Hell, they could even throw the ncode in there and we wouldnt know.

After I finished demoing the KPS88, the guy at the tennis store told me they should be annoucing the line up for the X racquets (I asked him what they would be called, he didnt know) in the next week or two.

Some pro's should be using them come London end-of-year or maybe even before that. But the racquets wont be on sale till 2010 Aus Open.

    Great news!

I don't know if this has be refered to before or not, but the 20X refers 2010 so the racquets will be the X six one, X Blade, X Tour, etc.

Agree with above. Fed has been using a K90 paintjob of the Prince Original Graphite OS this year and look, he won 2 out of 4 grandslam events and regained #1 ranking. Little did he know the cross-stabilizer bar would make that much of a difference. :)
