Just heard about the 2 new "players" frame called Cobra Tour and Team.

Wilson will introduce a new technology called "FX".

    100" head, 16x19, mid 11 oz. frames. That's all I know.

what type of racquet is this supposed to be? Wilson, more or less, caters to all styles of play: serve and volley, all-court, baseliners, and counter punchers.

this sounds not-so good to me. they should begin making racquets weighted around 11.4-11.8oz. their Kblade98, IMO, is great, but the light weight keeps a lot of people away from it. Wilson should make a racquet with a 18 x 20 stringbend, around 11.6-11.8oz, flexy, and 95sq in headsize. that would be my dream specs (Vantage is not an option to me). other than that, the closest thing to that is a microgel prestige.

Really, maybe you are talking about this forum or on high level players because the Kblade 98 is a best seller racket, so maybe not so many people is kept away ;)

Wilson has recycled the name. The Cobra was the 1st oversized racket I ever demoed. That thing was a rocket launcher and I was soundly laughed into submission by my buddies. I remember it vividly. I didn't make the warm up and one game before I had gone back to my Jack Kramer ProStaff.

It's very possible that the spelling will be with a K. I didn't ask the rep HOW the word "Cobra" would be printed on the frame.

There was a midsize version of the Wilson Cobra frame, and I had one. It was my second racket. I switched to a superoversize for about 3 weeks, and carried this frame as a backup.

Honestly, not NEARLY as bad as you might think given the name. It was out there to kind of compete with the Prince Pro, but wasn't as popular.

I think Wilson is making the Cobra or (K)obra to copy the Aeropro Drive. It's going to have the aero look but thinner than the original one in order to avoid trademark rights. It's going to be in brown and turqoise. Wilson said they were going to stop making the K Pro. The Lopez frame.

Also look for reduced prices on the K Pro to come soon. I'm not sure exactly when, but the price of the 6.1's and the K Blade will go up to 200. So stock up now.

I always thought the KPro was a competitor to the Aeropro Drive -- for topspin seekers. Do you know why they are changing to the kobra?

wait the 6.1s are going to go up in price?!?! i thought that they might come out with a new racquet. they usually won't raise the price of a model already out.

Ain't happening. Babolat signed Nadal last year to a 10 year contract.

Lack of sales. The 6.1's and K Blades are more popular and they sell. If people want a "Pure Drive-like" they buy the Pure Drive. But Babolat has moved above Head in sales and they are now #2 behind Wilson. So Wilson is making their version of the very popular Aeropro Drive with the Cobra or (K)obra. I'm not sure which spelling they will use. But they will bump up the price on the K Blades and 6.1's next year.

Which begs the question, if one wants a racquet to generate tons of topspin from the baseline a la Nadal, that customer will most likely use Babolat. One hopes they keep releasing quality control-oriented frames; there is a reason why the 6.1s and Kblades are selling well.

C'mon! How about some photos! If Wilson worked on it, I think they could out do Babolat's PD, APD, and Head's Extreme Pro. This sounds proimising.
