On the "other forum" someone mentioned that:
If you have a Wise 2086 with the old diablo you can get the new version from Wise at no cost, including shipping. If you purchase a new 2086 it will come with the new diablo version.

    Also was mentioned that:
the older version of the diablo does not need to be sent back.
    Also:
The smallest diameter of the diablo, the diameter around which the string is wrapped, has been reduced approximately .100 (1/8 ) which causes the string to lay straighter and further down in the tension head.

I just received the Wise head from TW. And it is the old version of Diablo. From the look of it. Even the new one does not turn freely. Would that be a problem, say putting some friction to the string or alter the tension? Just curious whether to make a mod or have Wise ship the new version to me... what do you guys think?

    Thanks.

E-mail Tennis head (Wise) and they will promptly ship one out. No need to mod the diablo unless you really want to.

It's not suppose to turn freely. The diablo moves with the gripper. The idea is to use the fiction on the diablo to reduce the clamp force (by the gripper) to pull the string at the same tension.

Diable fixed or free to rotate

I wonder what Gamma Tech has to say about this, since the Gamma diablo does rotate on two ball bearings to minimize friction.

I personally, like Gamma's design, that's why I used the Gamma diablo on my Wise 2086. I think it's ok for the diablo to be fixed as long as the surface is smooth. Most other fixed diablos are made of metal.

It seems with a fixed diablo, (one that does not rotate, as that is what my machine has), the diablo takes most of the tension off the linnear tension plates. Otherwise if the diablo rotates the string will rotate and more tension will need to be taken up by the linnear tension plates.
It seems that the fixed would be the best to place less stress on the string.

Read cj6666 post, above. Even if you don't get the new diablo, Wise will send you one for free.

Mr. Lakers4life: Hello sir, since we have in the past, exchanged post in regards to the Wise 2086 TH. I have a question for you sir, My 2086 TH was working fine for 2weeks, after I received a new diablo assembly from TW. I must say TW has been super in helping me get the 2086 TH working with no problems. But as with all electronics machines, things can happen, 2 1/2 weeks ago, to be exact on August 16th, the machine after working fine for 2 solid weeks, woud not turn on. That was strange since I use a good quality power strip protector to power off my 2086 TH, my Prince ptc machine and my spot light, the other 2 power on with no problem, but the 2086 TH will not turn on. So I call TW, I explain the problem, I tell them that I think it is the power supply unit that has gone bad, since the little green light on the unit will not turn on. So I waited 3 weeks and finally get a replacement power supply unit from TW sent to Panama, ( today), so I get home, and plug in the new replacement unit to the 2086 TH, the green light does not light up and the 2086 TH will not turn on. Well now I think, it must be the 2086 TH machine for sure, something inside. I call TW, but the perosn who has been helping me, was not in today, I call the Wise company from Panama 3 times, and 3 times I get an answering machine to leave a message. Well I must say today was not my lucky day, anyway I am still searching for answers why it won't turn on. I must say that the power supply unit was sent minus the ac power cord. just the power supply unit. My question is, when you plug in the power supply unit does the green light light up immediately?. Both the units I have do no light up the green light, the power strip protector is working fine, since my 2 items that are plugged in work perfect,( PRINCE PTC, spot working light). Since I see you are an Engineer in your profile sir, what is your feeling about this situation. I have a feeling it could be the power supply ac cord, or something inside the machine as a blown fuse or faulty red power switch on the 2086 TH machine. You feedback would be greatly welcomed, since if all fails, I have no choice but to send the complete 2086 unit back to TW California, for a new replacement unit, and that is something I certainly want to AVOID, but I hope I can resolve the issue. I also read in your post that you have no problems contacting the Wise company, well from Panama the toll free doesn't work and the 323-512-4517 has a constant answering machine message from Mr. Wise himself, any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated. For now I have been sadly relegated back to my trusted Prince Lock out TH, which has saved me. With the 2086 TH I was setting it @ 53 lbs to get a 35DT reading, now that I am back to the Prince lockout head, I have to set the ref tension to 60lbs to get a 35DT reading on the ERT 300. Any advice, feedback, solutions, tips would be greatly appreciated to get this 2086 TH back in fine working order.

Thank you, best wishes NG(Panama City, Panama) :???:

The green light on the power supply should light up regardless of whether the Wise is plugged in or not.

Have you tried to plug it into some other power socket on the same power strip?
How about just plug it in directly WITHOUT the power strip? Or plug in some other socket in a different room?
Or plug in with a new power cord? The power cord for the Wise adapter is just a normal PC computer power cord, and I think you can find a replacement pretty easily.

I usually unplug my Wise completely from the power strip after I use it. Better be safe than sorry.

One would also assume that both the plug and the machine would have a fuse, which may have blown. It might be worth a quick check and a replacement fuse in either or both. Will only cost a £ (dollar) or so.

These are great ideas. I would add that its possible the power cord does not have a solid connection with the power supply and that simply pushing it in as far as possible may fix your problem. It really seems odd that your power supply would fail and the replacement you were sent would also be bad right out of the box.

I'm with Ash in thinking it may be a fuse problem.

"The missing piece of this puzzle was resolved thanks to the TW message forum"

Gentlemen: After reviewing things carefully, It was the power cord, the power supply units are fine, since I switched the power cord rom the Prince PTC machine which has a similar power cord, and bingo, both power supply units the green light does turn on. There was no juice to the Wise 2086 TH. TW was kind enough, to send a replacement power unt, but it was sent without a new power cord, thats how it was sent to TW from the Wise company incomplete. Well I am glad, I didn't have to send the machine back from Panama to TW California. Regardless of the inconvience, TW has always been helpful, willing to help and on top of things, they go out of their way to give you good expedite customer service. TW are 100% super in my books, Mrs Hayley Beltran is super and very profesional. Thanks all for the feedback and exchange of ideas, once I read were the power unit green light must turn on, right away I knew it was the power cord. Well this a first in my book, that a power cord goes bad, since it had me scrambling for a while. The moral of this story Gentlemen, is to buy all your machines from Tennis Warehouse, their customer service is second to none in the Tennis business.

Thank you, best wishes NG( Panama City, Panama)
