i'm from buffalo and i'm gonnna try out for it this year. Everyone said it's a good experience, i can't wait for it.
i've never heard of it im from the middle of the island
Two of my junior players participated in Empire State Games. I know that they had ALOT of fun, but I can't say that it helped their tennis much. I don't believe it is sanctioned by the USTA and it seems to me that Eastern Section players already compete in too many events that do not carry USTA points.
Empire State Games is a great experience, however the level of play varies each year. Some years, you will go, and you will have some really good players there, and other years, the field will be much weaker.
It's not sanctioned by the USTA, but points aren't always everything. You will usually find some great matches in the top 1 or 2 spots.
