At this rate, I'm definitely designing my own Vapor 9 IDs now !!! Poor Rodger :( he should design his own shoes with Nike ID like the rest of us mere mortals. Just because you are "Nike" doesn't mean you "nail it" 100% of the time.

Gray polo with a pink bias at the button placket, black pants, and black and pink shoes. Definitely going to be Federer's most ugly outfit of all time.

Maybe that is Nike's plan... put out the ugliest Vapor 9 ever so everyone (except Roger) will spend an extra $35 to NOT wear that design :(.

Maybe Nike should post a poll here on TT before they release the next Vapor 9. Kinda like a free focus group :).

Past a few years, there were several pink shirts.
Funny thing is that many people had negative opinions but all pink items were sold out and became hard to find ^_^
Also I've never seen someone wear those shirts at courts. I am wondering where the all those pink shirts went hahaha

That colour combo looks great imo - as does the whole outfit, the shirt especially.

    Agree.

Everyone always complaining about lack of variety/repeated colors, and now this. I love the black/pink combo. Something different.

Prediction: Fed wears them on court and many will go, 'actually, not bad.' That's usually how it goes.

There's nothing wrong with the new pink and black colorway...except that it looks awful. Other than that, it's super awesome.

I am probably not going to buy them (have too many shoes as is right now), but I agree with Babolast. Nike is trying something new and this whole "pink" stigma people have is a little old fashioned.

I can relate. If Nike advertised that they were donating a percentage of the proceeds from each shoe toward breast cancer research, that would be appreciated, and the design would indeed have meaning and purpose! Missed opportunity for Nike in my opinion :(.

I'm not a big fan of pink shoes but that's just me, I mean if the pink was replaced with red or a dark blue then I'd consider them.

Yeah, I don't get what's wrong with pink and black... Nadal wore pink and black at the French Open 2009 and everyone loved that outfit. Now Fed wears pink/grey/black and everyone hates it...

The color combo is actually pink and a very dark gray...not black on the ones I saw personally a week ago. I think Nike calls the color "Slate" or something like that.

Black and dark blue? That would be a terrible match and look extremely weird. You don't mix colors that close to each other.

Anthracite I think. But on TW it just says "black." But guys, remember from 2010 cincy when fed wore a "perfect pink" polo?

There is truly nothing wrong with the color pink (it's lovely). But, mixing it with black is not the best stylistic choice IMO. And now everyone equates pink as the color associated with breast cancer research... Nike... you blew it!

I don't think that has anything to do with it. I have a few pink oxford dress shirts in my closet and a polo but that's about it. Most people don't have a lot of stuff to match these shoes. I mean, I know you like highlighter colored everything but a lot of people try to coordinate their apparel and pink just doesn't work with blues or orange or red, etc.

If Nike started a breast cancer awareness line like Polo does with their "pink pony" then it would be awesome and people could piece together stuff to wear but as it is stand alone pink shoes don't work.

These are basically black and white shoes with a splash of pink. Any white/black combo outfit works, which make these easier to match than a lot of blue-based shoes. You wouldn't want crazy colors as part of your outfit with the shoes anyway.

Nike did do a breast cancer awareness themed line of basketball shoes a few years back. Pink was/is going to be a trending color for 2013 and Nike knows that. Nike knows that the trends are a year in advance and incorporate that into some of the designs.

"I can relate. If Nike advertised that they were donating a percentage of the proceeds from each shoe toward breast cancer research, that would be appreciated, and the design would indeed have meaning and purpose! Missed opportunity for Nike in my opinion."

It's myopic (not on your part AlfaAce, in general) to think a billion dollar company is going to do that despite what we all hope these big businesses will do. If they're going to create something like that it would be a limited edition and charge twice as much to recoup operating costs.

TW says "Anthracite / Polarized Pink / Black / White"
The triangles and foot frame are black, but the main color is anthracite.

I saw these on foot for the first time today. Honestly, if you don't mind wearing pink then these are a top 5 vapor colorway. The pink is only visible if you standing right behind the person. From a side view, the pink pops out perfectly and the black balances perfectly..
