Newer 'cap' grommets for Wilson 85 prostaff; Will they fit older/original 85's?

Sorry if this was asked. I did a couple searches, no results.

Want to hit string up and hit an older ProStaff 85 sitting here, but the original grommets are old-school, running only down the center. The new ones actually cover the edge, like a 6.1 Tour.

TW wasn't sure....Anyone here use the newer strip and successfully get it on an older Chicago/St Vincent ProStaff 85? Easy? Hassle? Not even close?

    Thanks

They will bump up the swing weight..not sure if they fit though. If they do fit and the sw feels too high, exacto knife the overhang.

"CAP" Grommets are only HEAD racquets. You are asking about the Bumper Guard on the newer Pro Staff 85?

Yes. Just meant that it 'capped' the edges, unlike the older ones that were really narrow. The new ones lap the edge, like a 6.1 Tour/ProStaff 90.

Don't want to scrape this frame (St Vincent). Just want to give it an easy hit, but even TW was a bit unsure if the remake bumper would fit the older frame.

you have to tweak it a little .. it won't fit but with some force, bend and a strong straight awl you can fit it..

Thank you, CK....Was the string pattern changed slightly, or was it a difference to the mold or frame update ?
