Is there that much of a difference between a newer generation racquet vs an older one? I'm talking about like from a Head FXP Prestige to the newest Microgel equivalent or a Prince 03 tour vs an 03 speedport tour? If there is, how much of a difference? A match maker difference or is it that most serious players or even players who play alot have to have the newest thing out? I am not trying to stir anything up but was really wondering the differences in every generation that comes out.

They generally ARE different. But, whether or not they are BETTER is a personal decision. Not since the introduction of graphite has there been a technological advancement that helped the vast majority of tennis player's with their game. Even with that, though, there are exceptions.

What about all of the technology that came before that? It all gets replaced eventually.
