General discussion for this tournament. Harrison and Isner face off in the first round, their matches always good to see. I'm also looking for a breakthrough from Denis Kudla, he reached R64 at Wimbledon and has broken in the top 100.

This Kozlov kid playing in the 1st round right now looks like he is 6 years old. Doesn't ATP have some kind of age limit ??

Welcome back, Ivo! Great news that he has recovered sufficiently from the viral menigitis that sidelined him earlier this year. It's interesting that should he and Kudla advance to R2, it sets up a Newport rematch of '11, when Kudla beat both Ivo and PseudoFed.

    I'm glad he's feeling better.

I got to see him play at the USO a couple of years ago on Court 17. It was quite an experience, since that court is small, and so if you have a good seat and a telephoto lens you're going to think he's serving straight at your head at least once.

    :)

This Kozlov kid is making history right now. he is only 14 years old per announcer and he is about to beat a top 100 ranked ATP tour pro right now. UP 4-3 in 3rd set.

At wimbleton they said kozlov is 15. Some people say he is older than 15. He is 14 now?

I consider Chang Chinese, although I respect that he's an American citizen and therefor technically an American.

For what it's worth, Kozlov was born in Macedonia and moved to Florida when he was very young. He is not Russian.

No technicality about it. Chang was born and raised in the United States. His parents, although both Chinese, were educated in the States and met and married there.

Chang is an American of Chinese ancestry. He would probably describe himself as a Chinese-American like others call themselves Irish-Americans or Italian-Americans because of their ancestry. But they are all no less Americans.

I would have had Ram and Sock in the poll not James Blake or Ryan Harrison.

Karlovic won get on him, I didn't expect such a quick recovery.

Querry lost to Smycek in straight sets. It seems he's just can't get to the next level.

I'm thinking we'll see a Hewitt-Isner semifinal in the bottom half of the draw. Top half? Wide open. Maybe Mahut-Sijsling based purely on current form...

Wow, mahut has a huge bomb. that serve if you are on court looks like you can't see the ball. I have no idea how a human being can return that thing on grass ?

Mahut finishes off Rhyne Williams 6-2 6-4.

Two Americans also advance: Qualifier Alex Kuznetsov over 7th seed Kenny de Schepper 6-3 6-4 and Michael Russell over Illya Marchenko 6-1 4-6 6-4.

yeah, he's still been broken one time at 1/1 second set, very bad serving game but on the whole his serve was very effective.
I didn't really know this american player Rhyne Williams, but he didnt impress me.

Rhyne Williams is a American college graduate. He is good but not as good as Steve Johnson. Rhyne is sold of Poor man's Tipsarevic. he has decent forehand but that is it.
