Idk if anyone else has noticed this but:

This is the best picture I've been able to find so far. Look at the hoop of the frame at the 9 o'clock (or 3 o'clock) position. On the retail version, there is a silver stripe at 3 and 9 that says GT technology on it like so (look at the third picture):

The difference between the two is that Roddick's racquet doesn't say GT technology there because it is covered up by the lead tape he always puts at 3 and 9. Do you think Babolat put the stripe there to try to fool the public into thinking Roddick doesn't use lead tape?

I don't think it was to "try to fool the public."

It's just to make the racquet look like Roddick's.

I have noticed that and thought it was funny but i don't think it was intentional that they put that there. I think Roman probably noticed that it looked like lead tape and thought i'll jus tput it there.

it's almost like how Wilson introduced the NTour "2" because everyone saw the powerholes on her original NTour, which never came with powerholes. The NTour 2 basically just added a black graphic to hide them.

Here's a better question. Why would the public care if Roddick uses lead tape?

yeah I know, who cares. They just make it look more like roddicks by having the stripes. Who gives a **. Roddick is best player ever.

They aren't trying to trick people into thinking he doesn't use lead tape, they simply wanted the Pure Drive Roddick to look like his; except that he doesn't use a PDR... he uses a PD paintjob with lead tape, black graphics on the throat over the red graphics, no cortex, etc.. it's most likely a Pure Drive Team.
