    Hi folks,

This is a pretty nice vid I stumbled upon on youtube...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGZk8N0zM5k

It's of some chilean guy named Dastacoman. It's seems he's studied Safin and his style is very reminiscent of Marat's. He's got the open stance forehand, even the odd footwork on the low approach he did is very much safin like.

The serve with the full back turn and extended trophy pose very safin-like as well.

    Got his flat backhand too.

His volley is a little better then Marat's I think.

Anyhow I thought this fella was pretty impressive, probably one of the best vids I've seen.

Sorry if this like a real old vid that you've all seen before...

    Undoubedly, he's got 6.0 strokes.
But how good is he really?
Safin was 6'4", partied like a rock star, hung out at the Riviera, and hardly ever got close to his potential.

I think he was Korean cuz his coach or dad (dun remember) was speaking it in one of his vids.
    And I'm Korean.

He looked pretty good but didn't look like safin to me.
Safin has really good balance and really seems efficient
at generating power, looking almost effortless.

He's quite good. I wish I had his shots!
Wonder how long he's been playing and how often he practises?

If he plays for UCRiverside, I'd say he's been playing for just over 10 years and practices at least 5 days a week, 3 hours a day. Depending on his status on the team, he could be a 6.0 or a 5.5.
