    Genius,

We forgot to activate the quick reply box before launching the site. The Quick Reply option is now activated.

    Enjoy

    Guide

How can I help? You can visit the FAQ for general questions about posting, usage, and much more. The board itself should act very similar to the old phpbb board. Visit your user control panel (User CP) to modify your preferences. Email discussadmin@tennis-warehouse.com with specific questions or post your questions here as it seems several members have experience with this software and would likely help out any way they can.

    Thanks,
    Jon

Few suggestions, the horizontal "profile and then post" layout seems to waste a bunch of space, how about profile on the left, post on the right layout (like phpbb).

Maybe the old colour scheme back instead of vb3 defaults? Might ease the transition.

Hmm, I will probably implement both of your suggestions in a new style. Although the current look is fairly "stock", I like it! I had planned to make a few style options like the old board had.

    Thanks for the suggestion,
    Jon

yes, Click User CP in the navigation bar at the top of the page-> Edit Options -> scroll down to Thread Display Mode, select Linear -Newest First -> then Save Changes at bottom of page. While your in the Control Panel look around to see if there are other options you may want to change. There are some nifty features you can/should take advatage of.

    Thanks,
    Jon

No, what i meant was...do you know how if you press 'General Pro Player Discussion" and the topics that are on top of the page because it was replied to recently. I wanted to know if i can veew the topics by when it was started.
Like let's say there are five new topics today, I want those five to be at the top instead of older topics that were just recently replied to. Sometimes I don't want to see a topic from a few weeks ago. I liked that part of the older boards.

I agree with mach1. This was an issue with the last board format at the outset, and was eventually fixed to allow the option of sorting threads by their creation date. We need this option back.

    Thanks.

    Hello, TW Staff:

How about the number of threads? Have you restored the site to the identical content before yesterday's upgrade?

I found the number of threads available in Health and Fitness considerably smaller than before this change. Did you cut from the archive?

    E.g. not finding this thread:
    Great fitness sites
    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/viewtopic.php?t=23127
    which was there until yesterday.
This creates a problem, as I had many links in other articles to it.

Also, I much preferred the previous fonts, they were easier to read and sharper. I esp hate the new ITALICS font used for quotations. Don't you realize it's difficult for the modern eye, used from the other sites, to the Courier and others?

    Thanks

    Marius,

All post were transferred over. I did a quick search and found your post here:

    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=33800

By default, the forums will only show you threads from the past month. To change this go to User CP -> Edit Options -> Under Thread Display options -> Default Thread Age Cut Off.

    Thanks,

    TW Staff

    Thank you, Brad.

But we have a serious problem.

For whatever reasons, the numbers and thus the URLs assigned to this and other threads have changed during your upgrade. This means that the links I made in articles pointing to those threads have changed. All my previous links to other threads are not valid.

E.g. all the threads I pointed to in my article in this thread:
    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=36617
have been moved to other numbers.

OK, you have a point about the change to "showthread.php"
and that is a problem enough, because all the links which I had before to various threads in my articles contained:
    "viewtopic.php"
thus if someone reads those postings and clicks on the link they don't get anything right, they get instead "Not Found".

But you're not correct about the numbers remaining the same.

    This previous thread:

    Great fitness sites
    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/viewtopic.php?t=23127

is now as the sysadmin indicated:

    Great fitness sites
    http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=33800

Yes, New database, New Thread ID's, New Post ID's, New User ID's, etc. The database was imported for use with vbulletin, so, although the data is the same, many (most likely all) of the specific ID's are different. At this time there isn't much we can do about this other than search and edit your previous posts. That could be quite a process depending on how actively you linked within the board. I'll search around to see if there is an easier way to do this.
    Thanks,
    Jon

Creation Date Feature added. Go to your User CP and Date created should now be a sort option. Also, you can click the date created option on the forum display page.

    Thanks,

Congrats on the new board and happy new year.

I wonder spell-checking across the net would be slow wouldn't it? I mean when you hit preview it would be quite a process to go back-forth spell-checking?

Unfortunately Vbulletin doesn't have an integrated spell checker. There are currently Two options for Vbulletin and neither are 100% compatible. Both lack in one area or another and I don't want to implement a spell checker that works only sometimes. For those of you who use Internet Explorer I would highly recommend ieSpell @ http://www.iespell.com/. I use this and it works for any situation where you might enter text on a web site. But.. its only for IE or IE based browsers. This is a temporary solution, I do intend on installing a spell check option when a viable option becomes available.

    Thanks,
    Jon

Thanks for suggestion. After all, maybe it is better to activate "little grey cells".

Happy New Year! (there is a music in the background)

Jon, Thanks for turning on rss feeds. :)

If you're using the firefox web browser.

    http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Get the spellbound spell checker extension.

    http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/

I don't see anything like that in the User CP, or in 'Edit Options', Jon. I see it at the bottom of the Forum display pages only - but we have to reset it to sort 'By Creation Date' EVERY time we visit a Forum display page, because the default is to sort by 'Last Post Time'. This is strange, because directly under that is the 'From' option (to view the threads FROM the last week, last month, etc.) and when we set that, it remains at where we set it - there is no need to reset it every time we visit a Forum. But the 'Sort by' option always reverts back to 'Last Post Time' every time we visit the Forum page, and must be reset each visit to 'By Creation Date'.

It would be much better if we could set it just once - either at the bottom of the Forum display page, or in our individual preferences - and it would be retained, as it was on the last board, so that our personal 'default' is what we ourselves have set it to.

    Thanks.
