Ok guys here are the pics of Rafa's next shoe. I guess on 2nd look they are pretty similar to the cages as its got the Dragon stuff. Well Drag On X i should say.

chiru, no prob man. You aint busting my chops at all. I agree with you, Im not too big on the shoe either. Its not even teh colors that bother me. Its the overall design. I thought they had something real good going with the cages. This is like a step back, even though they are using newer technology, it looks like an older shoe. Also it does look like a skateboard shoe or old school bball shoe like Nike Dunks. Its the way they shaped the synthetic overlays on the shoe. Its looks like it was just slapped on.

I love the retro look. Looks like they changed the outsole a little, hopefully it's more durable than the cages.

I also see that the price tag goes up to $120, but the shoes do look a little too retro and not worth the amount. I could be wrong though, they might look better when they hit the shelf. :-?

Yeah I think lookwise they took a step back. I thought the cages looked pretty cool. The retro of these look dumb and the non retro ones just look plain

I can't even see any tread pattern on those shoes at all. Will the Breathe Cage line be discontinued for the CourtBallistec? How many ounces will those shoes weigh? So many questions to be answered. BTW, I don't really like the retro look.

I want the all black one bad. Staedler I'm assuming you work at a Pro Shop since that picture came from Nike's 09 catalog.

Actually Im a footwear designer. We usually get catalogs to see what the other companies are releasing and we just try to find trends and stuff. Pretty fun. Hopefully one day, you guys will see my designs in the tennis section of a Nike catalog. Haha.

Thanks for the pics! That said, the green/blue/black shoe might look ok if you're sporting those colors, as I assume Rafa will be, but the shoes in general dont look terribly attractive to me. The reviews and word of mouth would have to simply be astonishing before I'd consider them.

Hmmm..that's interesting. They are lot less attractive than recent offerings. I'll definitely have to get more Cage 2's as well.

Not a fan of the Neon yellow pair, but the white / obsidian / silver ones are growing on me. I'm kinda glad to see the drag-on plastic gone from the area over the toes.

Guys, these will probably not be $120... That's the retail price of the current cages and barricades, TW just sells them cheaper. They are $120 at most Pro shops/specialty shops.

I'd just like to point out that perhaps Nike is trying to attract another crowd of people to tennis by making them look like BBall shoes... Smart move on their part.

    I agree:mad:

I expected more from the design since I loved the look of the Cage IIs.

It seems like these will be lower to the ground which I like but will have to see the samples.

those look like the basketball shoes Amare wears, the Air Force max or something like that. Maybe Nike is on to something where it puts its players in basketball shoes

That's cuz those last ones aren't the same shoe. Those shoes that are cheaper, are the takedowns of the shoe. Takedown meaning they are shoes that look the same, but are cheaper and lack all the technology and features of the $120. If you look real closely you can tell that that the $70 dollar version doesn't have the DragOn X or the visible Max Air unit. Its kind of like the Vapor V and the Vapor V TD. TD meaning takedown. Hope this helps.

Personally I think they look GREAT! Just not for tennis:) I will definitely by those, and wear them around, fit my style perfectly. It's a no to playing tennis in those for me though.

Personally, i don't think there was even a reason for Nike to design new shoes past the BF II's. Perfect shoe: fit, traction, durability, style, colors. Why come up with new shoes if the current model is perfectly alright? The BF III's weren't half the shoes the II's were. The Cages weren't Cages- they were Breathe Free 2.1's. And the Cage II's, oh man, I almost threw up when I saw them first. And now this crap? I'm still waiting for Nike to put out the grey/yellow Breathe II's again :-D. Seriously, Nike, Come on.
