It is pretty ugly. It's all shiny now. Give it 2-3weeks on the court, covered in dust, and all you have is one dirty black shoe.

Or more simply the WTF polo, which mixes said green with gold. RG t-shirt is a bit greener IMO.

I've actually found normal pairs of the Vapor 9 to be pretty unattractive but I really liked these ones.

Ugliest colorway I've seen for the Vapor 9's. I mean, really? Look at all that grey! It looks like the designers didn't meet the due date Nike set for them, so they lied and said they were finished.

It's actually navy, not grey, there isn't a drop of grey on the whole shoe.

Leave it to Nike to give us wing-tip tennis shoes for a London event, and ask $160. I admire their chutzpah.

Ugly / beautiful / worth or not is no matter. Regret after you got a chance-Hesitation will blow your chance to get it at retail price.
And when 'your' shoe doesn't look nice, don't try it and just send it back or sell it.

If you miss your chance to get it and regret, you should pay x2 or more to reseller to make it yours.

Good post. Yeah I sent back my Claim the Nights to TW as I like black shoes but they were too black for me but someone else should get to enjoy them. I think I'll like these though.

Further up the thread, the "grey" comment was amusingly off base!

I like them. Will be used as my casual friday shoe in the office. Definitely will not play in them.

Same here. I would wear them on the court.

On a serious note, did you people actually catch on Nike's marketing philosophy? They are following the models of dozens of companies out there.. They are milking the current model of shoe as much as they can...

"Nike Zoom Vapor 9 RF Brogue Grey/Green Men's Shoe"

Yeah, not a drop of grey anywhere, despite the name of the colorway being Brogue Grey/Green.

It may not look very grey, but it still is.

The person posting labeled that color, it's actually listed at Dark Armory Blue/Teal Tint-Green Glow. In person, they are much more blue than the web photos are leading on, but yes the photos make it look very grey.

Yeah I bought a pair just because they are rare. I'm not planning on wearing them though. I'll probably just hang on to them for a few weeks/months and then put them up on the bay. Maybe try to get like double what I paid for them.

I like the way it looks but there's no way I'd spend that much money for those shoes. So I can't accurately answer your poll.

I buy tennis shoes based on fit and performance, not style. However, I'm a fan of the black and green combination.

God they sold out quick. I thought they would last a bit longer since the color way is just that bad (imo) :-?

You're gonna be stuck with 6 pairs of shoes, you'll barely manage to sell them for retail in a market flooded with them.

    I was kidding. :)

Sorry, my post looked too serious..

On a serious note, I would stick with the available Vapors and wear them as casual shoes. They look good, but I would probably destroy them after a few weeks on the tennis court.

So, I am not as much into the shoe collecting aspect of tennis as many others. I gave half hearted efforts for the last two Federer LE's I liked and got shut out. I really liked this pair and was determined to get them so I did my homework by calling TW, MW Sports and Express. Hell, I even went to my local Nike outlet which is another story but was a very sad thing to see.

When I logged on to buy, it dawned on me that I could've bought as many pairs as I wanted to on the three sites; yes there's a "limit" of one per customer but you don't have to be intelligent to figure out a way around that. In fact, I could've sworn that when Express first dropped the shoes at 12:55 am they didn't even have the "One Pair Per Customer" disclaimer. In my eyes I could've practically cornered the domestic online market, or came close to it, in one of the more popular sizes (for what's worth it seemed to me that 9, 9.5, and 12's sold out quickest on all three sites).

Furthermore, because of the gracious return policy's of these websites there is truly no way to punish the folks who are buying these in mass quantities with the plan to resell at a large profit. If they can't sell the shoe they can still return it to where they bought it and receive a refund..

    Sorry for the rambling..

It's naive to call the return policies "gracious." Free shipping and returns is the primary reason I, and millions of other people, use premium sites like this. It allows you to try before you buy rather than risk wasting money. This in turn means that many more products are ordered than they would be if there was a penalty, and much of the time people keep those products that they may never have tried.

While I won't hail them as saints, I'm not complaining at all about such great customer service; it's a rare way of doing business that benefits both the business AND the consumer- and it can't get much better than that.

It's naive to call it gracious that a company gives a customer 365 days to make sure they like the shoe and that it fits? Listen, I'm sure that policy is in place because of consumer protection laws and or to protect the company from some form liability. However, even the pickiest consumer might agree 365 days might be a little excessive.

Don't get me wrong, I completely understand and appreciate why online company's have the policies in place that they do. I didn't mean for my message to come off as a diatribe against said policy. I was simply thinking out loud that there are no repercussions for these people that buy these shoes in mass quantities with intention to resell at a profit. There's not even the risk that they might lose money on the shoes. The only downfall to doing what they do is having their money, that they can get refunded at any point, tied up for a short period of time.

Uhhh, watching the Fed-Joker match and Fed's shoes look a little different in the colorway as opposed to the one's that were sold... The ones sold look like they're missing the mint-green color on the swoosh...

I doubt Nike would want a tonal swoosh on court... with marketing and all.

Oooohhhh Nike mislead us. They're not the same. Everyone return these as soon as you get them. They're not even the same shoe Fed is wearing. Send 'me back! (all size 10.5 pairs anyway)

Got mine today. They are pretty unique, from the materials to the broguing (which goes all the way through for ventilation making these much nicer than clay SLs) to the insole, bag, and RF tongue.

But I've got so many sports shoes I'm feeling a touch guilty for adding another pair. So, watch out for TW having one pair in stock if my conscience (well, that's what I call her) gets the best of me...

If your conscience wears size 8, give me a call...ahaahaahaa.

Now that I see a clear pic of the green swoosh, it just looks like the French 2013 colorway, l definitely prefer the retailed version without the highlighted swoosh!y

+1. Is this supposed to be a takeoff on the dress shoes Brits wear to work? If so, fail.

Can't wait to see all the pairs of these languishing in 'the big auction site'.

I actually like the colorway, but knowing Nike pic vs actually product... the material for the upper could be something that feels cheap and very plastic.

Since I got the own the night colorway I wasn't interested in buying the same shoe again.

Honestly, just keep them in the box (velvet bag i guess?) they came shipped in. If you want to sell them they might fetch a nice price. But that's my opinion.

So for the die hard Fed fans who got one. Will you wear it, play with it, or just seal it in a glass box? I am the middle road buyer, will wear it to the gym, though grinding it on court is out of question for sure. Such a waste to just hide it under the bed.

Not a huge fan, but more of a sneakerhead. These are on the casual wear rotation for me. Not going to wear them on court.
