Huge mixed emotions: he plays a ton and makes the later rounds - so he passes my 'human billboard' test. But his personality and looks are zeroes - so I could see no one wanting to write him a check for what he may now think he's worth, based on his TMS Miami win over Rafa and win in London over JMDP (and Fed earlier). Of course this could also mean there are a few companies in the running and final negotiations are underway. Will be interesting.

Well I'm watching Abu Dhabi now and he's still wearing airness....Some may say this isn't the real start of the new season so maybe that's the reason. I dont buy that though, after all Murray is going to be wearing his Adidas gear at the Hopman Cup, although i'm not sure of the start date of that event. Seems to me like poor Nikolay hasn't been able to get a bigger company to sign him up :(

Yes, it seems as though Davydenko will not be signing with Lotto...

He is so much like Kafelnakov, bad spelling. Both players are great but only approach tennis as work to make money. I think Davydenko plays more tournaments than any other top player. When asked about this he said his wife spends a lot so he has to work a lot. Go figure. I wish he played less and moved his ranking even higher than its consistent 4-6 spot. He is a great player. He overextends himself.

A great player that will never win a grand slam.

I agree - perfect comparison. Kafelnikov lost a lot of 1st rounders at smaller tournaments - guessing from a combo of burnout and the fact that he was getting appearance money.

Not sure that would work. I think he only made it and stayed in the top 10 by playing a lot. If he played Fed's schedule he might not make it past the quarters that often and might up at 15 instead of 5. If you win the 250 series tournaments (250 pts), it's better than losing in the quarters at a Masters 1000 (180 points) - compare Canada and Umag:

Davydenko is still wearing Airness at Doha.
    So, no Lotto deal?

Is he sponsored by Prince for the racquets?

Davydenko is the man. Bugle Boy should snatch him up and make him their Coverboy. Then we could all go to Kohl's or Fileen's Basement and purchase the actual threads worn by our idol for 15 bucks and stuff. TinTin is a world class ballbag by the way, Blake will get to major final this year.

It's funny how now Davydenko is gaining a bit of fame after his wins and yet Airness still don't release their clothes. Lotto should of snapped him up. They would of got a lot of revenue in return.

im not sure how much money he could even make a company, hes so awkward, i dont think i'd want to buy anything they put on him...

the only brands i could see on him are running clothes brands, like maybe asics or something, because he looks like one of those old guys who run 10 miles a day...
