Wouldn't this be the most epic USOpen final ever?

A new champion would be crowned! I would be so happy for either of these
    players to win this!

    Yeah!!!

    ....
........but of course it will be Fed/Djokovic in the final with Djoker winning in 4. :(:(

    But we can dream!

Nothing about seeing the creative ways Cilic would choke while Nishi gets his 5th mto by the middle of the 3rd set would be 'epic'.

Though I somewhat agree, would like Nishi to win a major, would prefer a Monfils/Nishi final for pure entertainment value however.

It's unlikely that this is what ESPN/CBS etc wanted. It's not what gets TV viewers.

I just really want to see Nishkori win. Cilic being in a GS final makes no sense to me, but Kei has the skills. It is his title to lose.

Amazing to think that one of these guys is going to be a Slam champ on Monday. Exciting stuff. Either would be worthy. Both playing great. Wow a non-Fed, Nadal, Djoker champion. How long has it been? Del Potro? And, other than Del Potro how long has it been?

How does Cilic not have the "skills"? I'd agree that he never had the head, but he's always certainly had the skills.

Are you crazy? Cilic has the skills to hit anybody off the court if he is on his game. Goran has done a great job with Cilic helping him improve his serve and his confidence. His ground game is also off the charts.

It is anybody's match between Cilic and Nishikori. Two completely different styles. It will depend on whose fitness is better and who can keep his nerve better.

I agree with what Power Player is saying, Cilic to me has never been a great talent, big serve but that's about it IMO. Sure he's always been weak mentally but he's never been even thought of as a threat to the top players like Tsonga, Berdych, Gulbis even have been.

Not taking nothing away from him but from that standpoint him being in a slam final is 'weird'. Nishikori has great strokes IMO, great to see him put it together and him beating Novak and his run overall have been more impressive than Cilic. From that standpoint I hope he finishes it off.

Yes exactly. And to add to that I can see Kei as a regular top 5 player replacing Ferrer.

I don't ever see Cilic in the top 5.

That Japanese kid has so much talent - he could easily become a dominant force on tour.

Safin '05AO before JMDP but just recently a guy named Wawrinka won there too.

Er...epic would not be quite the word I would use for it. Maybe...indifference would describe it for me.

I can guarantee you I won't be watching. A cheater vs a real talent. Hope Nishikori destroys him.

I sure missed that one. This year's AO. But, still, between 2005 Safin AO and tomorrow, we've only had two non-Fed/Rafa/Djoker/Murray Slam champions and only four non-Fed/Rafa/Djoker champions. I like a game with clearly defined dominant/top players, but not that dominant.
