Since Head officially launched the Graphene series today, Djokovic unveils his new racquet (or PJ) during practice at the AO. So I looked up on Getty and came across a few pics, wondering: how come the head shape looks more oval than his IG paintjob one before? As the Graphene is known for having a longer head shape, has he really switched or is it just me? Illusion? What do you guys think?

    Check this out:

EDIT: Decided that it's just me on this illusion, but thanks for the comments!

It's probably just you. Last time he switched rackets it didn't do his game any good for quite some time, so I really doubt he will want to make a change given the fact that he is playing well at the moment.

That doesn't look TOO oval in my opinion.

Head goes way too far with their commercials.
    Hilarious though, I'll admit.

@dimeaxe, thanks for sharing the pics.

Wish Head would have a contest for the car.... or make a 93 sq in version of this racket.

While I agree with this assessment in general, I think it really is smart of Head to use the Djoker - and Masha - for commercials like this. If they want to appeal to kids, who as we all know are responsible for making tomorrow's purchase decisions, they just have to. Can't rely on Andy because he's way too serious and, at least for commercials, dull.
Gotta get up to Babolat in terms of popularity. And in that regard, I really wonder what is going to happen if Nadal ends his career.

Is Babolat really that popular over Head/Wilson?

The new one has shared holes, the one Djoker is using has not.

Someone posted a ranking of the best-selling rackets a while back (can't find the thread right now), and a number of Babolat rackets were high on that list. Plus, it's a recurring theme that people see Babolat rackets everywhere they go, and (some) sales people seem to be interested in selling Babolat over anything else etc.
So that I'm assuming that Babolat really is number one in terms of sales by some margin.
But I'm sure that there are other users on this forum who have better information on this.

I don't think Babolat is tops in tennis sales (haven't seen recent numbers), but they are probably #1 with the younger players. Ideally, you want to capture the player when young and keep their loyalty, so the young demographic is most important in future sales.

That's right, and I think that's just where Head's Nole campaigns are targeted at, the younger players. So nothing wrong with this - to the contrary, I like that they do non-traditional stuff, like having Nole compete with a R8, etc. And I'm 34...

Looks like the directors of this setup video screwed up on a couple of shots. Look at where he's standing in the first shot and the second shot. Humm... and no, he's not jumping up in the first one making it look like he's further away.

Let's face it, Nole's PR people are trying hard to make it look good, but nothing comes close to the ease of display that makes up Roger's PR videos like the water bottle off the head one or the one where he hits a bunch of balls into a Mercedes through the moon roof.
