Djokovic has been a consistent force for quite some time, (2007-now) but he has been pushed by several players, on his best surface and on his worst that should be way below par.

Lleyton Hewitt, way out of his prime and ranked in the 180s pushed Djokovic at the Australian Open of 2012, winning a set. Later on in the year at the Olympics, had chances at winning the match they played.

Wawrinka at this Australian Open this year had many chances of winning their match.

Nadal, arguably playing on his worst surface, took Djokovic to 5 sets and was up a break before losing to Djokovic on his best surface.

Djokovic is a transitional champion that is benefiting from Federer and Nadal playing into their mid 30s and early 30s and is reaping the rewards by beating lesser players on a surface that can take years to adapt to.

This does not diminish his accomplishments, but I am sure many past greats were better in their prime/peak.

Yes, he is the only player ever to have reached six consecutive hard court GS finals (having won 4 of them, by the way), and out of the last 10 GS he have reached the final in 8 ( winning 5 ) and the other two were SF losses.

He has won 9 M-1000 tournaments in the last 2 years and two months, he won the WTF last year and he ended NÂș1 the last two years (and this will be, probably, his third consecutive YE#1 ).

Yes, he has not been dominating for a while...

What are you smoking? You have to stop before it's too late :)
Djoko is 25, Nadal 26. Which lesser players do you mean? Djoko has won practically all of his titles by beating Nadal, Fed, Murray.

People are spoilt because of what they saw in 2011 and peak Federer's years. You seriously can't expect Djokovic to win everything. I mean he's 4000 points in front of Federer now that's dominant enough. He's got to have a dip somewhere during the year, in 2011 it was the end of the season, in 2012 it was the grass season, this year so far it was the spring hard court season.

It NSK fault that people are forgetting the golden era of gj001 and conquistador. Sureshs is winding down to old age, and kids.

So you're new to message boards and the best idea of a screen name you could come up with is a negative opinion of another person? I feel for the people that have to have you in their lives.........

people always undermine when a player BARELY wins a match against a lesser player. djokovic is only human and cant be on fire everyday, the fact that he found a way to win over wawrinka makes him a great player. thats what greats do they find ways to win (djoko, Fed, nadal, etc.)

If Djesus isn't dominating then who is? He's winning everything, and is beating everyone so I think he's been dominating for over 2 years now. No one even comes close.

The AO surface is absolutely PERFECT for Nadal. Slow bouncy hardcourts, a grinder's dream, just the way he likes it.

Stupid Thread.....Yeah winning Australian Open, Dubai, and Monte Carlo is not dominating. Tell me who has more titles this year so far bar Nadal.

Still better than Nadal...because the weight of Novak wins are more.

    2000+ 1000+ 500> 500+500+250+250+1000

I disagree. NSK was like Almagro, who would sweep the lesser titles (south american tournies), but couldn't hold a candle to the bigboys.
    Quality over quantity.

Sureshs and heycal are the Nadal and Federer of forum trolling. SoBad used to be at their level as well, but is past his prime and in decline.

Lol, Hewitt pushed him  That's like saying Ungur or Bozoljac pushed Fed because they happened to win a set. Even 20 year old Djokovic didn't have too many problems handling Hewitt.
