I mean seriously, how bush league was that 'injury TO' right before Murray served for it. He pulled the same thing last year's final when Nadal was gaining momentum. Utter lack of class and showing his true colors when the going gets tough. He has clearly surpassed Nadal when it comes to BS medical timeouts, at least Rafa took his GS final beatings like a man and didn't resort to tactics like that to try to throw off his opponent. No respect for him after today.

I did enjoy that the fans booed him for it. Love 'em or hate 'em (I usually hate 'em), the New Yorkers don't hold back.

  3. Im no hater but I honestly lost a lot of respect for him when he did that.

When did you have any sympathy or respect for Novak anyway? :-?

Just release your needle from Djokovic voodoo doll and take a big breath.

First Americans don't give him day of rest, then they whistle him for having cramps in 5th set, pretty hilarious stuff.

So you're defending that crap he pulled today? And like I said, he did the same thing last year vs Rafa. Face it, your boy is the lowest of low in terms of this. A leopard doesn't change its spots.

He was already cramping when he was serving at 4-2. Looks genuine to me.

I'm pretty sure Novak took that MTO just to get on his feet and get over with this match.

Was he cramping? Yes. Was it a badly timed MTO? Yes? Did it matter in the end? No

I honestly don't care. If it works, it's a smart play. Gamesmanship is fine. Anything for the victory.

Two wrongs don't make a right. I hated when Nadal did it, hate when Nole pulls it. It's awful and makes tennis look like a sissy sport.

It was really disappointing but looked like Djokovic was genuinely struggling.
Murray could hardly walk himself right after the match.

NY crowd is horrible. It's pretty pathetic to boo a player like that, especially when he could have been injured.

both nadal and nole are horrible.

i feel nadal is more egregious, and nole has gotten a lot better.

Nadal deliberately stalls the server, illegal coaching.

Nole is more just timewasting these days.

Love it when nole kicks nadal's ass though and celebrates in his face. LOL. Nadal looks so bitter.

I do agree with you somewhat. This is what I said in the match thread.

Even though I disapproved this, the booing was uncalled for. Nadal does 24/7 and no one hackles him for it except us on TW.

Djokovic didn't have an injury....his mind was injured thinking he was gonna be the guy to allow Murray to win a slam. It was embarrassing to him. He probably is seeing his therapist now.

I dont like Djokovic.... and I dont like his tactics.... and I hate his parents......

But I wont complain about that timeout.

It would have been easy for him to give up, but Djoker is a fighter. And please if a 3 min break prevented Murray from serving out a match twice then he wouldnt have even deserved to win

And this coming from someone who:

    a. crapped his pants when I criticized PRO WRESTLING???? No one can take ANY complaint you have about a legitimate sport seriously after you crapped your pants when I criticized PRO WRESTLING.

    b. posts endless photos of horsefaces like Havlackova and Thunder Thighs Lisicki in the 'best legs' thread!!!!!

I don't think Nadal has been mocked by other players openly like they have to Novak. Fed's never mocked Nadal, but he's mocked Novak.

Yeah, well at least it's an actual sport. Unlike fake wrestling. As in, throw a punch that misses by two feet and knock someone out pro wrestling.

Even when pulling for Murray, I fully welcomed the medical timeout by Djokovic.

It gives the chance for the soon-to-be loser to stand up one more time for that last strike...

I saw Murray licking his chops while Djokovic was wincing in pain from his many cuts and bruises!

The cramping looked 100% legit so I don't blame him for taking the time out he obviously needed. There'd be a rule against late match timeouts if the USTA had a problem with it. What are the rules for bathroom breaks? Could you call for a bathroom break right before your opponent serves for the match? I wonder how tennis would change if the players had a certain number of timeouts to use at any time, for any reason like other sports like basketball?

Don't bash me, bash your boy for pulling the uber bush league move. Two straight USO finals where he's pulled this mess. It's ridiculous and indefensible. Take your loss like a man.

Yeah I think Roger has a lot more respect for Nadal than he has for Djoker.

Even the crowd got on Cvac big time for pulling that BS today.

You seriously need to calm down dude.

    DAMN!

Yes, it's not like it's the first time we've seen players take a MTO to disrupt their opponents rhythm.

Are you actually going to talk about the thread topic or just take cheap shots at me? You think it was okay for your boy to call a TO at that moment? And please don't bring up Nadal, even he's never called a TO while his opponent was serving for it in a slam final.

Wasn't he cramping? If so, might as well take the TO and make Andy think about serving it out. I'm sure Andy did not mind taking a little breather after a 5 hour match.

    a) you can't take MTO's for cramping (and that was the issue)
    b) murray was in distress too but stood up the whole time and kept moving around. djokovic was probably hoping andy would sit down and start cramping worse himself. didn't work.
    c) the crowd was pumped and it was annoying when djokovic had the timeout for 3 minutes and everyone was just waiting for andy to serve it out. took the wind out of people's sails so they started booing.

You can call for a trainer if cramping, no? What is the difference between that and a TO?

Andy still won, it didn't change a thing.
