There is already one of the three he threw into the crowd being sold on the UK auction site. Currently at £500+.
    That didn't take long!

Just shows that the seller doesn't appreciate tennis and is only doing it for the ££...

Could you provide a link to the sales site?

500 pounds is only $800. I wouldn't mind buying it just to see what the swingweight, flex and static weight are.

It could be - it looks like it has one or two more wraps of the grip compared to the stock TW picture.

I couldn't figure out how to contact the seller - there's no email address that I could find. I was thinking of putting a bid on it but I'd need to get it to the US.

    RDC machine.

I'm thinking of putting in a bid and then asking for shipment to the US for an extra 50 pounds. If the seller says no, then I'd need to find an intermediary to receive it and then ship it to me.

This one would be worth it. Not just because it is Novak's racket but because he used it to win Wimbledon.

Any chimp can stencil the name Novak on to a frame.

No evidence that it is Joker's racket or that it was used in the Wimbledon Finals.

The ghost of PT Barnum is having a good laugh somewhere.

It looks liegit. The beam is definately thicker than 21mm and there are a couple other marks that make it look legit.

If I was going to fork over a considerable sum for a racket, I would want much stronger provenance than some dude on the auction site making completely unsubstantiated claims.

But, hey, bid away. Not as if anyone ever misrepresents anything. :)

Can't bid on it without a UK postal address.

It looks like an XL and the seller looks like he's sold quite a bit of things with 100% satisfaction. What's annoying is that there's no way to contact the seller.

Perhaps we have differing opinions on what a considerable sum is.

if you have a 3bay account, you can "ask a question"(bottom of page) and ask him to post his email address or email you for further discussion.

tbh, this seems pretty fishy that there is a reserve, its short listing time and its UK only(especially considering the item and the money it could draw). most decent sellers do not post reserves on ****, and when they do, theyre pretty outrageous due to an idiotic seller's opinion of the item.

I tried that - no way to get to the seller.

There are folks on string forums that deal in expensive racquets and they sometimes state that they will only deal with customers in their own countries. I have the feeling that many don't want to fill out the customs forms.

I'm well aware that I could get scammed. I have purchased racquets on string forums and I will have to say that the guys there are great. I have had zero problems with them which is interesting considering that you're sending money to people that you don't know for a product that they promise to ship from another country. And sometimes those countries sound pretty dodgy.

Perhaps I should pass on this one. I'm pretty sure that Djokovich is going to win many additional tournaments and, perhaps, give out a few more racquets. I'd just like it as a collectors item and something to hit with. I guess we'll see whether or not the reserve is hit. I've never bought anything on **** before so I'm still learning about what you can and cannot do.

I had a look at the stuff that people have bought from him. A lot of unrelated small electronics, videos, etc. Nothing really sports-related. I kind of wonder why he was in the primo seats at Wimbledon. Perhaps it's something to do for the upper-crust set there but the stuff that he sold isn't indicative of that.

In the ad, he states that the buyer would have the chance to hit with the same racquet that Djokovich used to win Wimbledon with.

Djokovich's racquet is reported to have a swingweight in the 370s. One of my K88s is leaded up to the 370s so I know what a log the thing must be to swing. I think that anyone in the forums here would be able to tell if it was real with one or two swings.

So it is quasi-fishy to me. Unfortunately is is somewhat plausible that it could happen. I decided to pick up another TGK238.4 instead.

I guess "any chimp" can stamp a name, erase the specs inside the throat, make it look thicker than the retail stick and put a pro-stock buttcap on it...

Let me know when you figure out how to ALL of those things...

    It looks totally legit...

It looks very authentic to me too, it even has the Priority One sticker with the tension of "27.0" kilos on it(okay, that probably could be manipualted the easiest out of everything, but you know what I am saying)

That seller's put a reserve on as well.

    Thieving b******.

Having said that, I'd sell it as well if I had managed to grab it as a result of it being thrown into the crowd.

Only reason being, is that I doubt that I could get the best of out it. The likely crazy high swing weight and static weight would be a hinderance to anyone other than a tour pro at the very top of their game.

That said, I'd at least RDC the thing and take beam measurements, looking inside the handle, look at his grips, and take a ton of photos before selling the thing. That seller is SUCH a numpty!!!

There are very few people as a percentage of the population who care about tennis as much as we do. This should not come as a surprise. Whilst I, like you, would keep the racket for sure if I got say Wayne Rooneys football boots or Lebron James basketball shoes I would not hesitate to sell them as I couldn't give a damn about this two sports or their memorabilia.

he has actually only 2 feedback from buyers. one for elton john tickets and the other is not listed. the majority of his feedback (64 out of 66) is for him as a buyer, not as a seller.

    What is the reserve?! o_O

That's brutal. I bet it's probably like $2000.00. I know from being a part of a lot of "sports memorabilia" auctions, that sometimes the reserve prices people want are insane.

I really hope that someone from here buys it! I want to know the specs! :)

mhm. did you ask a question? i dont see one at the bottom of the page.

fuji, a reserve is a minimum price the seller sets beforehand and if it doesnt reach the reserve he is not obligated to sell the item.

edit: LOL THE RESERVE IS ABOVE $1,000.

LOL! Wow! I've worked in sports auctions before, and I've had some stupid reserve prices from private sellers before.

I wish he would answer questions. I'm not in the UK but I'd love to buy it!

I asked him a question and he is not willing to say what the reserve is

He basically said its a moderate price compared to the direct offers hes recieved or something..

Personally I would not sell the racket if I had got it but oh well I guess everything has a price but what is the price..

    Fair enough.

I made about $30K last week with a small amount of effort so spending a thousand or even a couple of thousand wouldn't be a big deal - I assume that it's all just fun for you too.

that defeats the whole purpose of a reserve, obviously he wont answer that. tbh, it seems like hes trying to get more than his direct offers.

what hybrid is he using in that picture? i remember he had tecnifibre stencil's before...so is that black code and gut?

and movdqa, if you dont mind me asking, what profession are you in that allows 30k to be made in a week?

Weird... The likes the game enough to pay for seats that close to the court, so I guess he doesn't need the cash. Then he ends up getting the racket the 2011 Wimbledon champ used and less than a week latter he is already selling it?

Gotta be a very angry Nadal fan...

I know I would keep it....

TW lists X-One BiPhase as ND's string. Doesn't list tension though.

    > what profession are you in that allows

    Just some personal trading.
