In this case, there were no checks and balances inside WADA. It happened in the CAS.

Who on earth would administer a blood sample the next morning after they supposedly said no the night before?

on a lighter note, here's a guy that could benefit from Nole's gluten-free diet (as well as a crack and alcohol-free one)

a councilwoman...sounds bad, until you hear he was actually going after a citizen in attendance and the councilwoman just got in his way, then it sounds a lot better :) ....and he did pick her up, so he's got that going for him as they say

that moment, that split second, when her hands go up in the air, which I just noticed (look closely) is classic...the whole thing is of course

The doctor did not say no. Troicki said he wanted to come back the next day even though he was advised against this course of action.

When he came the next day she took the blood and left it to others to decide his fate.

Maybe he should consider the possibility that he got off lightly?

After all, for slandering a WADA doctor by accusing her of lying and other anti-doping officials of being corrupt and incompetent (all without any actual first-hand knowledge of the facts), Djokovic could have received a sentence similar to his friend, Troicki!

5 hours with a team of doping inspectors is probably preferable to 12 months of not being allowed to play!

He couldn't have gotten a suspension nor anything similar to Troicki's sentence, he didn't commit an anti-doping violation like Troicki did. I don't think he can even be fined. They can harass him though apparently.

WADA is absolutely pathetic. Djokovic schools them then they try and test Nole hoping that they would find doping results, only to get slapped back again in the face considering he stayed there for 5 hours and came out clean. What a embarrassment for WADA.

The tests came back clean? You work in the lab, do you? They wouldn't have the results of the tests yet but the Djokovic apologists will make anything up.

And he wasn't the only one tested. They tested all eight players for both teams, even the ones that didn't play.

Djokovic is certainly not the only player to be tested at the Davis Cup. Nadal was pulled from the audience when he was sitting watching a doubles match too but you don't hear him ranting and raving about how unfair it was, nor are Berdych and Stepanek screeching about being tested either. Me thinks Djokovic doth protest too much.

    Agree. +1.

WADA is more concerned to protect their own privileges than to fight doping in sport. Bureaucracy at its worst.

Hopefully not, or the samples are going to be contaminated with traces of dandruff and pepperoni.

And yes, Djokovic doth protest too much. :)

I think in both cases they should have waited for the match to be over or come in some other moment during those days. I also see no justification for having Djokovic for 5 hours in a room for the testing...

There must be empty cells in your head because if he wasn't clean then Novak would be appearing in various Internet and news articles that he has been doping but he hasn't so think before you open up your Vamos mouth please. Thank you.

I don't know if you're talking about Varvara Lepchenko, but this also happened to her. She was new to the U.S. and didn't really have an address and this lady allowed her to use her address to get mail.

But Varvara and her family were struggling, living in their car, and probably didn't have the funds to check in regularly, and the lady may not have known the significance of mail from WADA.

I'm not pro or con on the issue.

I was simply wondering if this was the person you were referring to.

I have done no research on WADA and do not know what the outcome of her case was.

I'm not a Lepchenko fan, just heard her story on TTC and was stating what they said.

I have no opinion on Troicki, Canas, Cilic, or anyone else.

I am not interested in the individual cases, just interested in what others have to say about it.
