This player once claimed to be from Mars...
Small and ugly creature.
Gotta be Safin, surely?
haha I love these questions Datacipher
This ones too obscure. After a serve Dent looks like something from space.
Dents is from earth. He just took the wrong stuff and became the Hulk!
Sorry Liam, not Coria.
Good guess jings, maybe even better guess Katarddx, but no and no.
Glad you enjoyed these Kninetik, didn't know if people would or not.
You said you thought you knew this one Kevin?
This player really had his success in doubles...was still out there last year anyways(don't know about this year)....had a good all around game...BUT had A LOT of trouble putting away overheads at times(big obscure hint)....
um could it be kafelnikov ? :?
Paul Haarhuis sp? I think he is still playing doubs, had some solid singles success...and is shown evey year giving Jimbo retriving practice during his '91 run.
Yep, the hints give it away.

Very much seems like Haarhuis. He retired early this year, I think, when he re-injured his shoulder during the Netherlands' Davis Cup tie against Canada.
Yeah it was Haarhuis. After he upset McEnroe at the '89 US Open(as a qualifier) the press asked questions like, "who are you?" to which he replied, "I'm from Mars."
Yep, you guys are winners.
As kevin mentioned it was after the 89 USO upset of Mcenroe when he was asked "who are you and where are you from?"
"I'm Paul Haarhuis....from Mars"
Many newspapers picked up the Haarhuis from Mars line.
In 92 after beating Becker, a reporter asked "where are you from now?" Haarhuis said "Manhattan" and of course someone yelled out "well that's about the same!"
oops posted twice
Keep them coming, Datacipher! They're fun but the younger posters might stand a better chance if you can find some fun and obscure trivia from slightly later (after 94 or so would be best for me personnally)...
Thx Mikael, I wasn't planning on regular postings but I will throw in a few more in the future! One of the problems with trivia too recent is that....it just happened! So everyone remembers! But I promise to make the next one after 94 ;-)
