Hah. Lo-Fi is where it's at.
what are the next colorways?
Not a fan of the (real) 9.5s. It's just a change of the upper and I prefer the upper on the 9s. Maybe seeing them in person or at least better pics will change my mind.
Is he still wearing a vapor9?
Sorry this is already the best pic i could find, anyone has a better closer look of both Berdych and Stepanek's shoes???
those are just their IDs for davis cup.
here ya go!
You made it exactly like Berdych's V9?
I can now understand why does it looks like Djo's USO B7 to me ;-)
No those are Berdych's own shoes from ID, he posted that pic on his twitter.
I don't know how I feel with those salmon-looking laces on the bottom pair. The top pair w/ the grey looks nice.
The grey upper on the id is that dark?
Had mine for a month now. The most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. So light, they seem to fill in every part of my feet. Time will tell how long they last.
Do more people have the same problem with the vapor9? It started after 3-5h of play. I mostly play on clay (as you can see).
I really love the fit of the vapors but these are only 1,5month old and allready torn to pieces. Are the SL better maybe?
Oh...is that why they replaced the mesh with sl for the clay version.
Technically, the SL is for clay due to the outsole anyway. But hey if you can slide no problems with a hardcourt outsole, then thats fine. The SL wont break down as quickly as the mesh in those areas for obvious reasons
This is exactly why they make a close toe leather CLAY shoe, isn't it?
and to keep clay out.
I wonder if this is enough.
We all know you are just pulling our leg.
No amount of V9's is ever enough!
I've had many pairs of the V9's, all with the mesh, and none of them have ever ripped up like this.
it's nice to see a well worn shoe8)
lol I commend you for this. I never had the balls to take a mostly white pair of vapors on clay... WOW...lol
It isn't that well worn actually.. only 2 months, with a average of 8h of play each week.
Haha, ye that wasn't really smart. The first day I used them on clay was even a very dry day and they where instantly orange. Before the pictures I cleaned them.
It's a shame that you can't order the SL versions with allcourt outsoles (or very rarely) since I play 70% on clay and the rest on syntethic grass/smashcourt.
Wow I have never seen a pair of vapors ripped up like that. Did you continue playing with them after they started ripping???
And the audacity to take white zapors onto clay courts. Lol.
Question to those who own a pair of vapor 287.
Were the vapor 287 made in different sizes or just one size? If they were made in different sizes, how many of each size was made?
Tandringa, I had the exact same problem. I am 23 years old and play competitive tennis. Searching for a replacement for my worn out babolat propulse 3, and after reading comments in this forum I decided to try de Vapor 9s (same colour as yours and play in clay too!).
Unfortunately after 45 days the shoes started to wear out in the mesh, (where the pinky toe is? same place as yours). I have to say I am really disapointed. I don't drag that part of the shoe. The mesh wore out just by the normal folding of a foot in the movement, like any other shoe.
I know that a lot of people say Vapors are not so durable in order to be light and comfy, but I think this is so wrong. I can accept a shoe that is slightly less durable for other benefits. But this shoes have almost no durability at all! In my neighbourhood's Nike shop they told me it was a design flaw, and they already had an amount of custommers complaining for the same problem. They did offer me to change them for a another shoes.
As a consumer I am disapointed and I would never buy this model again.
Sorry if some people get offended by this post. But I had to it.
I love tennis, and I love to push myself to improve. So if I pay an expensive shoes I expect them to perform in consonance to it's price.
If you thinking in buying this shoes consider my experience: The shoes are really comfortable, lightweight, they look awesome BUT THEY ARE NOT DURABLE AT ALL.
If you can afford buying new shoes often, or your playing style is not too demanding on the shoes, and like the shoe GO FOR THEM.
From my perspective, a pair of shoes that are not reasonably durable they are not the best tennis shoes, don't be misguided like I was.
GAAAAAAH!! I just released all my anger!!
Full sizes only, 9-12.
c.70 pairs of each of the four sizes were released worldwide.
Federer got pairs 1 and 287.
I see the new Vapor 9 coming out on October 1st has an RF logo on it! About time.
2nd pair to have RF logo in 2 years... C'mon Nike.
the thing is there are also a lot of people out there who rly don't like any of the pro's logos on their clothes and shoes... I'm not one of them (I rly don't mind) but I have met people who really liked polos or shirts but because of the bull logo or rf they don't want to buy them
But I'm not Roger Federer...
Weren't the sizes made to order? So there was no set quantity of each.
it's ok. imagine that you are Roger. and need new rackets to improve. works out great
Oh come on. I know that because i am. Now I can buy a Vapor 9 with my logo on again. Awesome.
Got my 2nd pair of vapors today's from a cb credit. Ordered the atomic red. Not sure why they didn't call it atomic pink. Yikes! Can't wear these.
