Hey not all of us hate A-Rod dude, I am a fan of his. If people gave me tickets to see Fed play somewhere I would say thanks, but no thanks. Prob going to flamed for that one, but hey it wouldn't be TT without some kind of harsh rebuttle.

Why do you think you will get flamed for your opinion? At least you’re honest, but I was a little surprised the Roddick created some much buzz, and I know everyone don’t hate him.

And where exactly is Portland then?

You Americans really do pick some strange places to hold big events. Houston for the season ending masters and now Portland for Davis Cup final

If you want a fast surface whats wrong with San Jose? I am guessing its not big enough? But still, if you are going to put a court down especially for the final I would have thought it would be in a well knownn city. NY, LA, washington?

In front of my computer, obviously
Portland is in Oregon. Where is Sheffield? Where is the Birmingham NEC? (don't answer that, I know how to use Google).

Davis Cup site selection is based on a bidding process. Niether LA nor San Jose put in a bid. The USTA also likes to go to cities that don't already host regular tournaments in order to 'spread' tennis around.

"Americans" didn't pick Houston for the Masters Cups finals, the ATP/ITF officials did that.
