Wow. I'd almost forgotten how hideous these shirts were. Almost. :)

This shirt is one that I wanted so badly when I was a kid - Laver wore it in red, green, and this navy blue. I searched high and low for it, and for the belted shorts...but, sadly, Puritan had no interest in selling me one. Bah!

I'd use this tracktop for the warm-up and post match interview.

I recall there being a line of Rod Laver tennis clothes in the late 70s - early 80s. I believe it was lower end stuff sold in department stores...not a high end brand. This would have been after Laver retired so he probably didn't wear it in any major matches. Anyone else remember this?

I snagged the Federer AO 2005 shirt off ****, but it's white, and I had to size up one. I am willing to pay a lot for the blue one in medium. Beautiful shirt, though it fits strangely – sleeves ending at the elbows and all

I agree entirely. That jacket really gets me going; would be a wonderful Christmas present for max.

The best tennis shirt ever....come to think of it, maybe the best shirt ever in the history of clothing. But I'd pass on the shorts, I'll take the longer modern ones.

And Mick, make sure you show up with your midsize wooden Donnay.

Great Fila/Donnay pics above Mic and Capt. Willie. Now how about the Diadora shoes? Here's another vintage Borg shirt that go great with the red Diadoras. This is probably from the 1978 FO, where he lost 32 games the whole tournament.

Yes, Laver did some kind of deal with a Japanese company after his Puritan deal ended; pretty cheap stuff. I had a pair of the shorts, and they were weak quality-wise; the logo was glued onto the leg of the shorts.

These are the midsize, right? And as I recall you have some midsize Kramer's as well. You need to take a pic of yourself playing while decked out in the Borg gear.

I think I have this shirt except it is all white w/ black stripes and logo. It has a zipper and is cut very large. The date in mine is 01/03....so I think mine was from the 2003 Australian Open. I'm guessing the one in this pick is from the 2003 French.

Actually, as I think about it, the "January 2003" date in mine is probably when it was manufactured. So it might be from a tournament later in the year....maybe Wimbledon given that it is all white. Hopefully someone else here knows.

actually, no those are standard size 65 sq in donnays

last week i showed up to the tennis court with a standard size 65 sq. in jack kramer and one of the guys asked me "john mcenroe's?" I responded "no, tracy austin's" :D (tracy austin used a jack kramer to win her first US open)

in the fila borg gear, they thought i was going for the johnny depp look

Feds shirt from the 05 Masters Cup in China. I dont remember what the tech was for the stuff on the back, but it was killer. Really light and dried insanely fast. Not to mention that the cut fit me absolutely perfectly. I bought this shirt in the white/blue colorway when it came out, my absolute favorite shirt of all time. If I could go back now I woulda bought at least one of every color. :(

Love this one too. IMO 2005 was by far Nike's best year for clothing in the 8-9 years that I've been involved in tennis.
