Only Andy Murray can run around a forehand to hit a backhand slice.

That is how skilled he is and how he dictates the outcome of the match by it being on his racquet. I am confident he can reach the SF if not the F and become the winner of the French Open and begin his assault and start to rake in the Grand Slams.

And he will rake in Grand Slams only when he starts to hit good forehands.

yes, I've noticed that too. He truly is amazing and enjoyable to watch.
Every time he stepps on court you know he will do something immortal. OMG this so makes me wanna watch him now, too bad his match against chela is already over. I hope he makes it deep at RG. He has all the weapons and ofcourse his fitniss is outstanding.

Why would it be sarcasm? You must be one of those blind haters who judge people only by their appareance. Murray is an natural born grandslam winner.

Thats really the most idiotic thing i've heard in my life. Murray's loss is similar to Federers loss at AO 2009. He will bounce back and win some grandslams just like Federer did.

the criticism that murray is just a pusher is ridiculous. just take a look at the match against chela. murray played great and really put the pedal to the metal.

    I agree. Murray isn't just a pusher. He 's a slamless pusher.
Lots of players got no slam but somehow nobody looks more slamless then Andy.
He must be the slamlessest player in the history of the game. And you can tell he knows when you seen him on court. His slamlessness kills him slowly.
In fact, it's kind of tragic.

This Murray will never win a slam business is really silly. People who don't like his style of play have every reason to not like his style of play -- we all have our preferences. But when Federer says his game is so good he thinks he will win one someday, he's been in two finals and has four Masters titles, and is still young -- it's just absurd to count him out as not having a good chance to win a slam(and possibly a good deal more than one) before he's through.

c'mon give andy a break. andy's only 23 and time is on his side. federer won't play like that very much longer, nadal's suffering from his game and his knees/feet are already an issue, so who's left? the joker, verdasco, roddick, I mean those guys can definately win (another) slam, but so can andy. and then there are the likes of berdych, cilic, wawrinka, etc. but these guys are no real threat.

p.s. I forgot the number one contender for a slam - donald young!

Murray winning a slam seems inevitable if you'll think about it. Federer's going to start declining and Del Potro is injured and he's the only other guy that can win a hard court slam. Djokovic hasn't got a hope in hell, and it seems hard to see Nadal beat Murray at a hard court slam.

How, praytell, can a style of play be good enough to get to two slam finals, win four Masters titles, produce enough consistent results to be ranked #2 in the world, 14 career titles(and he's still only 23 so there's every reason to expect that to grow considerably), career winning pct. of over 70% on the ATP Tour ... and not be appropriate to winning slams? This is just nonsensical.

pretty easy: you need a big forehand to win a slam in the modern game.

MS are good for ranking points, but a slam is the real McCoy. those runner-up plates got him depressed alright.

#2 in the world? the right order is now restored.

So you need a big forehand to win a slam, but not to be a runner-up at a slam? That just doesn't make any sense. If it was really true, then you would find Murray(or any similar player) rarely threatening at any slam. Yet he was 2-1 at last year's Masters Cup(losing only to Federer), and in his last four slams has a SF, a F, and a QF finish.

The year before that, a SF finish(after a 3-0 record in the RR) at the Masters Cup, another F, and another QF. These simply are not the results of player who has no chance to win a slam.

Murray will never win wimbledon he doesn't have the second serve or the forehand.

Federer is light years ahead of murray on grass.

LMAO. Just no to everything you have just said.

The match isn't on anyone's racket or in there hands if that particular player is slicing, regardless whether they are too scared to hit a forehand.

Murray hasn't won a slam on hard courts yet, his best surface. What makes you sure that A) He will win FO and B) 'Rake' in the slams. So far, Murray hasn't even been close to any of these objectives and he's 23.

Oh and by the way, i can run around my forehand to hit a slice. It's not difficult.

And just to add, Murray isn't as skillful as the guys around him. Grand Slam results don't lie. Some people will say 'in the last 2 years Murray has made more semis and finals than anyone but Federer Bla bla bla'. Here's another fact: Murray 0 slams.
