3 aces in a row for Anjic. The guy has a killer serve. Possibly the best serve around.
He is 2-5...I think he's feeling the pressure of a guy who made it to the finals of a Slam our of nowhere, C'mon marcos, just play your game.
He looked like a scared rabbit coming onto the court.
Bags got killed in the first set, 6-2, looks like Ancic is trying to prove a point to Bags!
Marcos lost to him in Tokyo last year and i think that might also be messing with Marcos' head. But the most important factor is that Anjic is too tall for Marcos. Killer serves and those long arms to chase every ball, especially after he serves and approaches the net.
I doubt Marcos will recover in the second set, but we'll see...
Marcos is hurt and can't even go after Anjic's dropshots. He never hesitates like that. The tournament is over for him. Hate to be a pessimist but i don't see how he can fight back in this one.
We will really see if Marcos is the real deal, its hard to right him off on one match but we need to see results too see if he is the real deal.
Looks like Ancic has him beaten, up 4-2 in the second set and serving.
Its was 5-3 with Ancic serving for the match and he couldnt finish, Baggy breaks back, its 5-4.
bagman 4-5 in 2nd and serving to go 5-5
5-5 this could get interesting!
6-5, hey bags send this too a tie-breaker.
It's that damn first serve. Does anyone know the speed of Ancic's serve? The cameramen in Marseilles never show the board.
Great time for an unforced error Marcos...
Too many mistakes from Marcos. He doesn't deserve to win this match (not that he will).
Wow, Bags is putting up some fight. This is some effort by him in this second set.How tall is bags really? He looks more like 5'11, he generates alot of power on his serve.
Matchpoint for Anjic.
Another unforced error...
Wow, what a tie-breaker! , Come on Marcos, i love this kid, pure adrenaline out there!
He Loves Coming From Behind
damn it!Come on Bags!
Well, he might need to do it again , he is down 1-0 to Mario.
2-0 Ancic, Ancic has really hung tough.Bags had double break points to break back and couldnt break back.
2-0, not looking good...
1-2 here we go
6:2 6:7 2:1 in the 3rd for Mario so far.
3-1 Ancic, man, Bags is not doing a good job when it comes to hitting Ancic's second serve, come on Bags!
I'm impressed with his serve but his overall performance as well. I support Marcos but i think i've become a Mario fan as well.
Yeah, i been impressed in the pressure spots with Mario.Bags needs to break soon.
Not looking good here for Bags4-3, Bags needs to break here.
When someone serves like that so late into the game you know the other person is f*****d...
5-3 Ancic in the 3rd set, Bags serving to stay in the match and make Mario serve for it.
5-4. If there ever was a time to break Mario's serve in this game this is it! Go for it Marcos!
5-4, Ancic serving for the match.
5-4 Ancic is gonna have to serve it out
Mario deserved it really.
triple match point for Ancic
Ancic has been just too good, especially with the serve, i thought Bags could have doned better attacking his second serve.
I hope too see both of these guys compete in the future.
What a cold turkey for Baghdatis after AO!
He has a lot of pressure on him from now on. The weight of Cyprus Sports on his shoulders, the Pres. deferring his military. Did you see him coming on the court? He looked like a scared rabbit.
Ljubicic defeated Andreev in two sets - 7:6, 6:4! The last game in the match was on Ljubicic's serve and he was literally serving for the match. He missed on 6 or 7 of his serves making two double faults in that game alone. He also hit two aces, finishing the match with one!
And now if Ancic wins we'll have a Croatian QF ..damn that draw. Good job for Mario.
I didn't watch it...so was Mario's game that good or did "destined for greatness" and a "possible God" Baghdatis just switch off after AO?
Great win for the karate kid!
i hope ljubicic will win one for the 3rd time this year so fed get a tough enemy in a road.
Rafa's comeback seems to go smoothly.
A straight set win against Simon. Again, Nadal mixed up the serve well.
It's a real pity that Ljubo and Mario play against each other again. I just posted this as a joke in a separate thread. It's very awkward for me to watch matches like that. Just as it was in Zagreb Open. I was rooting for Karlovic against Ancic, but even if Mario won it would be all the same.
But, I was very surprised to see Davydenko lose to Korolev. I like that guy. He seemed to try to get back in the match in the second set, but fell short and lost it in tie break. Anyone know what happened?
Mixed up the serve? He played like crap in the first set. I couldn't believe he came back in that set after being down 2-5.
He did claw his way back, but as he himself said, he's far from being in top form. But it was enough to win, and he did play a lot better in the second set.
But he's coming back from an injury, and just feeling his way back into things, and the reason he won yesterday and today is because of his fighting spirit. And that's what we fans love about him. He just doesn't give up!
I saw some video of Rafa playing an exhibition with Fabrice.
He was leaning down near the net and he joked around.
