Does anyone use overgrips without the adhesive at the end where you start wrapping the grip? Seems like it would stay if wrapped well even without the adhesive. Does anyone have experience with this?

I just installed a new replacement grip and I don't want to rip little chunks of it off when I replace overgrips.

the over grips have a peel off tab to make them sticky, why not just leave it on, i am sure it will not effect the feel of the grip,

why not just use the adhesive, they won't rip anything off your replacement grip, you can't see under the overgrip and you'll probably keep using overgrips.

Yeah, I don't like my grip getting messed up from the adhesive (it tears little chunks away as someone else said). So I just don't take of the little peel tab over the adhesive. Works and stays in place just fine.

Doesn't tear any chunks off mine. It should be fine if you know how to wrap it. It would be very loose if you don't know how to wrap it. and it might come undone if you wrap it wrong as well.

make sure the little flap doesn't come out and you'll be fine. If the little starting flap thing comes out then rewrap it.

You could also just snip off the end where the adhesive tab is.

As people said, Gamma Supreme doesn't have adhesive and it's a great overgrip. My favorite.

I prefer the sticky because sometimes you want to change it on the court and court time can be precious. If you're concerned about it taking the grip off, you could put a small piece of tape there and attach the overgrip sticky to that.

Gamma Supreme used to have the stick tab on it but they discontinued it many years ago. I used to always buy Gamma as that's the only thing I liked in my local store. Now I just buy Wilson Pro Overgrips in bulk from TW.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to try snipping off the adhesive tip and using the the overgrip like that. (I am using a wilson pro overgrip)

Just do what i do. Get a bit of sticky tape and stick it over the spot you're going to start wrapping from. The adhesive can sit over the tape and it's fine. I done mine like that before and it works like a charm. STicky tape will not do damage when you peel it off (assuming you're not using some very super sticky high quality tape).
